We booked a two night stay via booking.com. At first seemed a little dearer than others but ticked lots of boxes. I was emailed details on what to do upon arrival but had lost Internet access so didn't receive anything. However this was no problem as the more than helpful Kristy was only too happy to help. You collect your key from the Julian apartments next door. The keys have an access fob to allow you to park for free under the accommodation. We were in room 3. This was a two bed apartment. I have to say one of the BEST apartments I have ever stayed in. It's the little things that matter, yes it was clean and spacious with nice bedrooms and bathrooms. But also the decor was so lovely and in kitchen drawers were things like table clothes, kitchen foil, bin liners, cleaning materials, soap powder etc. It's like someone who has actually travelled has put together the little things you need on a short stay and put it there incase you need it. Tea bags, coffee, milk and sugar. I was so impressed. There were two balconies one with a BBQ with strict instructions on leaving it clean but as they provide cleaner and foil there was no excuse. If you leave the apartment and turn left the bay and beautiful little town is no more than a ten minute walk. If you turn right make your way up to the light house, for a small fee the views were stunning and not to be missed. To check out you take the keys back to Kristy all she wanted to know was 'how was your stay'. I would highly recommend this friendly, well stocked, great located property.

Cape Apartments are in an excellent location but check which apartment you are staying in prior to booking as the quality differs a lot as they are individually owned - we were disappointed with ours. We stayed on the top floor in apartment 5. While the apartment was spacious, clean and the beds were comfortable that’s where the positives stopped. The apartment felt like it was furnished from a garage sale, items were broken - not huge inconveniences but enough to make you feel “blah” such as - front door not painted, artwork broken, curtain rail broken, BBQ not working, dryer not working, soap holder broken. It felt like a group of schoolies had stayed here the week before. The balcony is also quite small and not big enough for a family of 4 to have dinner on. We were able to briefly see inside apartment 2 and 4 and they looked a lot nicer and their balconies are larger. Cape apartments are well located for surfers who want easy access to Clarke’s, the pass or Tallows. It’s about a 15 minute stroll into town and is in a quieter area of a Byron. Unless you can confirm which apartment you want in this block, I wouldn’t stay here again.
