We stayed in this beautiful spot for a week and the outside areas are gorgeous. Lots of off-street parking and the added bonus of a restaurant and bar. Bliss. Unfortunately our bure needs some work. The bathroom has a large spa bath which is very old and difficult to climb into. The glass ceiling had a shabby shadecloth hanging over part of it. The kitchen area was tiny and very old with chipped cupboard doors. The lounge/dining area was a little sparse of furniture, perhaps a large rug would give it that cosy feel? Definitely ripe for a reno. We would stay again but would give #7 a miss.

We booked BreakFree Aanuka Beach Resort because we enjoy benefits as Accor members. But upon arrival we were informed that the restaurant is independently owned, so our members' discount could not be used, not even for breakfast. Furthermore, the cottages (or bures as they call them) are owned by individual investors, so the condition of each can be a bit "hit and miss" - and I quote here the receptionist. We were allocated bure #30, a good location not too far from reception, parking and pool. The cottage was in good condition and very spaceous with seperate bedroom, living/kitchen area and large bathroom with big spa-bath. The restaurant and bar was really busy on the Saturday night ; it clearly is popular with the local crowd and has a bit of a nightclub feel. We ordered an icecream, which came in a small glass and cost us $ 20.

Booked via a travel agent - We stayed for one night and, overall, it was okay, but there were several disappointments. The bure we stayed in was clean, but it was very run down and in need of refurbishment. There was visible wear and tear throughout, including chipped cabinetry and tired-looking fixtures. The photos online don’t really reflect the current condition. The “gym” was also disappointing – it’s essentially a small room with a rusty old treadmill, a rowing machine, and a few dumbbells. If fitness facilities are important to you, don’t expect much. Check-in could have been better. We weren’t given the Wi-Fi password and had to call reception to ask. The staff seemed surprised that we hadn’t been told. We also weren’t offered a safe key and had to request one ourselves. Noise was a major issue. The walls are very thin, and you can hear everything from neighbouring rooms. Unfortunately, we didn’t get much sleep due to children crying throughout the night, followed by neighbours doing laundry at around 1am. On the positive side, the restaurant food was good. However, service was very slow. Drinks and meals took a long time to arrive, and my Coke had clearly been sitting for a while as the ice had already started melting. It also felt odd to be asked for a tip before receiving any food or service. The resort was clean, and the staff were generally pleasant, but between the dated accommodation, poor soundproofing, and service issues, we were glad we had only booked one night.

Great welcome and great customer service, villas could do with a revamp as they are looking a little frayed around the edges. Following the satnav (google!) and was a little concerned that I had entered the wrong location as we were navigating through a housing estate, but it was right and we arrived. We stayed in a single villa that was large and spacious and enjoyed the very different wildlife that visited us during our stay. The resort should be very proud of its staff, they couldn't do enough to help and make us feel welcomed, from providing ideas of local places to visit, to filling our water bottles at breakfast.
