We stayed at the The Mediterranean Port Douglas for 7 nights in October 2021. We are a blended family of 4 with a 14yo boy and 12 yo girl. We all absolutely loved this place. We had a 3BR room apartment which is at the rear of the resort and it was really quiet and so well equiped. So much so that it was like a home away from home. The 3BR were lovely with 2 queen beds and another room with 2 singles. The second room with the queen bed had a huge walk in wardrobe and all other rooms has built in robes and the main bedroom had an ensuite which was huge. The kitchen was amazing with every utensil you could think of, microwave and enough pots and pans to cook meals for the family. We also made good use of the poolside bbq and had a few dinners poolside - heavenly! The pool was lovely and Miss 12, who has stayed in many places, said this was the best pool she's ever been in so that is a statement. Mr 14 made full use of the many paths and quiet roads around Port Douglas and skateboarded everywhere. Both children were up early and out and about, the place was so safe and friendly and they both felt comfortable doing this. 4 mile beach is within walking distance, especially if you love walking which we do. We also had a hire car, so a quick 5 minutes trip into the main street was no issue whatsoever. We loved the location in that it wasn't directly in town and this added to the relaxed vibe we felt here. Craig the manager was very helpful and friendly, always saying hello to us and making sure we were ok. I can see other reviews that aren't 5 star, but every person has different wants and needs for a holiday destination. We have all travelled extensively and stayed at 5 star places and camped and roughed it and found that The Mediterranean really had EVERYTHING we could need as a family of 4. We ate in Port Douglas, did the markets, a reef trip, walked all over town, 4 mile beach, Kuranda, Cairns, Mossman Gorge and a few days just poolside. The room had internet access and a smart TV which we could log into Netflix with. All in all, this was the perfect place, perfect location and perfect family holiday. We will be back!

“All round fabulous”

It would be hard to find an apartment as good as the one I stayed in for the price. The high ceilings gave an extra feeling of spaciousness and the outlook from the bedrooms both had a view over the magnificent pool. We were met by the managers who were very helpful and pleasant. It would be hard to find an apartment as good as the one I stayed in for the price. The high ceilings gave an extra feeling of spaciousness and the outlook from the bedrooms both had a view over the magnificent pool. We were met by the managers who were very helpful and pleasant. The Unit was situated just a 15min stroll from the Main Street in Port Douglas and also across the road was just a three minute stroll to the main beach. Considering the price paid for many resorts in Port Douglas this was value indeed and was far bigger than any others I have stayed in. I would certainly recommend this to anybody, it was quiet and extremely comfortable which made our stay a great one, if I had the money I would even buy it!!!

“Great value stay, close to everything.”

Looking around for a festive stay, there were many places to choose from, however none I believe offered the value as The Mediterranean. 15/20 minute stroll into town/marina meant you could leave the car in the secure car park or should you need to pick up some shopping and want to avoid carrying it back in the heat - then a two minute drive will be all you need. Craig welcomed us on arrival and was very friendly and inquisitive as to our plans whilst in town - only for the reason to suggest things had we not already had bookings made. A great pool and spa (not huge, but big enough) helped cool us down after each days activities. Spacious ground floor - two bed apartment that we had, had everything we needed - our only comments were that the queen bed in the master bedroom was perhaps a little too firm for us and did make for some restless sleeps but others may like a harder mattress in which case you won’t be disappointed. The only other thing was our outdoor seating didn’t really have any view as such but we found ourselves sitting by the pool most of the time if not out in town. I’d have no hesitation in recommending The Med for anyone visiting Pt Douglas.
