“Like staying in a stately house”
This restored victorian railway hotel is a real showstopper. The rooms have 30' high ceilings brass chanderiers huge sash windows with heavy fancy curtains and reproduction antique furniture with a king sized four poster bed. My room also had a spa. “Great, cheap stay only minor faults”
Bed was great, bathroom needed some minor maintenance. The place is old but was very comfortable. We would definitely stay here again, it is cheaper than most and very convenient to Great Western Hotel for events. Train line is next door but never heard one, maybe they don’t run at night there?

“flawed but excellent”
beautiful old building howeveer i had a couple of issues ie spa didnt work and thee aircon same made for a hot uncomfortable night thebplace was clean and well presented, id like to go back there at some stage however hard to aay how good it is with those couple of issues

“Rather disappointing.”
We liked the boutique nature of the hote, however more could have been done to make our stay more comfortable. The standard of service was very poor, we stayed 5 days room was never serviced or the bins emptied. Same for the breakfast room, very untidy, garbage overflowing and the breakfast offerin… more
