“Lovely Rooms”

We recently stayed here in room 4. We were met by a friendly member of staff and shown to our room. The room was fab, great size with a fire. The bathroom was huge too, I'll come back to that. We ate in the hotel on our first night. We had a table in the bistro but were sat directly under the air con vent, and it was freezing, so we asked to move. I was thinking more about our food going cold as soon as we received it. The dining areas are huge. There seemed to be 3 different areas, I was a bit confused, but I believe the menu covers all areas. We weren't told that you could order from the pizza bar as well as from the main menu. The place was buzzing, so busy, it does get really noisy. The food was nice. Back to the room. There is a communal kitchen upstairs for the 5 rooms, it was great. They provided bread, jams, milk, juices, tea, coffee, cereals, and fruit so you could have a lovely continental breakfast. Great facilities. There was a washing machine which was great, however, there is no clothes rack to put your washing on to dry. You can ask the hotel if they'd put your washing in their tumble dryer but I don't put certain items in a dryer so I had to get a load of coat hangers and hang them along the fireplace in our room, it took 2 days to dry. With all the facilities the hotel offers, a clothes rack would be great. Back to the bathroom. Our bathroom was huge, it was lovely. It even had a TV across from the toilet, why? I doubt you'd have time to watch it whilst sat on the toilet unless you had a really bad upset stomach!!! The shower had a shower head at each end of the shower plus a large tiled bench that you could sit on, however, the shower heads didn't move so if you sat on the bench, the water didn't reach you. If you had mobility issues and sat on the bench, you wouldn't have been able to have a shower. Online, room 4 is advertised with a steam/shower room, this is not true, there is a control panel but it doesn't work. This is a serious flaw and needs to be looked at. As I mentioned earlier, it was pretty noisy in the bar area downstairs as it got very busy. It seemed to be the only busy bar in Stirling. There is a notice in the communal kitchen asking residents to keep noise to a minimum after 9 pm, which is understandable, but yet the hotel had a DJ playing until 12.30am one night we were there. The rooms are directly above the bar, and hearing the music and noise from the bar until that time seemed quite unfair when residents are asked to be quiet. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and I would recommend the hotel
