Spent a Friday and Saturday night in Stone Cottage with a group of mates and the rest of our group in Redgum Cottage and can't rave enough about this place. Truly comfortable and relaxed; roaring wood fires each night (generous firewood) on a cold and windy weekend; superbly equipped kitchen and a real feeling of being away from it all in nature( but great wifi for those that wanted it). Only ten minutes into Halls Gap or Pomonal and a great base for exploring the Grampians walking trails and the wine regions close by to the north. Highly recommend.

We absolutely loved our stay at Grampians Pioneer Cottages! We stayed in the Mud Brick Cottage and it was clean, spacious, and surrounded by amazing nature. We saw kangaroos outside our window and really enjoyed the peaceful vibe. Before our arrival, the hosts sent us a super helpful message with tips (like bringing a torch for the evening walk) and info about where to shop nearby. It felt very thoughtful and made us feel truly welcomed. What touched us the most was after we checked out — I realized I had accidentally left my glasses behind. The hosts found them and kindly mailed them to our collection point in Australia without charging anything. We were so grateful for their kindness and care! Overall, it was a 10/10 stay. Would definitely come back and recommend it to anyone visiting the Grampians! 我們非常喜歡這次在 Grampians Pioneer Cottages 的住宿體驗！我們住的是 Mud Brick Cottage，小屋乾淨寬敞，周圍環境非常自然，還能從窗外看到袋鼠，整體氣氛非常寧靜放鬆。 入住前，房東傳來一封很貼心的訊息，提醒我們可以帶手電筒參加晚上的步道行走，也提供了附近超市的資訊，讓我們覺得備受照顧。 最讓我們感動的是退房後我才發現眼鏡遺落在床邊，房東幫我找到後，還主動寄到我們在澳洲的轉運倉庫，完全沒有另外收費，真的非常感謝他們的細心與溫暖！ 整體來說是 10/10 的完美住宿，非常推薦給要來 Grampians 的旅客，我們也很希望未來有機會再住一次！

I’ve spent the better part of a week staying at the Grampian Pioneer Cottages for a solo break. Specifically, the red brick cottage. It was a very pleasurable and peaceful experience and for those few days, I felt like I had my own slice of Halls Gap hence the review title. I could definitely see myself returning in another 12 months Although there are several cottages on the property, they’re sufficiently spaced; not like living on those new estates that are seemingly popping up all over the suburbs. I didn’t hear so much as a peep out of my neighbours all week. By the same token, the owner’s cottage is only a very short walk away and they provide their mobile number so they can be reached if you need assistance. On that note: Aiden and Corrie were both very helpful and delightful to deal with. The cottages are also self contained complete with a fully equipped kitchen, fridge (with a freezer) so you can cook meals and save a fortune on restaurant and/or takeaway meals. On that note: being cottages, there isn’t an option to buy food or drinks on site. There’s a supermarket/general store in town (a short drive) to buy provisions, though. Everything was immaculately clean and the furniture was very comfortable so no complaints there. I was also pleased with the number of towels and flannels provided as well as the pillows and bedding. Between extra blankets, pillows and electric blankets you definitely won’t go cold. You’ll also stay cool during warmer months between the fans and split system. I also enjoyed having my own chickens for company as part of my stay. On my first day, I heard something at my door and upon investigation, I was greeted by a brown chicken whom I christened as Chickadee. She was consistent about bringing her two gal pals at 3:00 pm daily and we had a hen’s party together 😁🐔🥳 As to why I didn’t give five stars? A couple of items: - Shower - I can appreciate the owners have made an effort to install modern shower heads and taps while maintaining the facade of a bush cottage bathroom. In saying that, there was nowhere to put toiletries such as a soap dish or shower caddy. They have pump dispensers of shampoo and body wash; however, if you want to use your own stuff then there isn’t anywhere to put it while you’re in the shower. Still on the subject of the shower and my main peeve: unlike most showers, which are on a base or have a lip to keep the water out, this shower had nothing of the sort. As a result, half the bathroom got flooded every night after taking a shower. The cottage is designed to hold 8 people (two queen beds and two sets of bunks) and I ended up using every towel in the cottage to clean up the water; I machine washed them in hot water afterwards and hung them out to dry rather than asking for fresh towels daily. - Rickety staircase - there’s a loft bedroom with one of the queen beds. However, the staircase felt very rickety and made me uncomfortable using it. I stayed on the ground floor in the room with the other queen bed. As a side note, some other points in the Cottages’ favour: - Location - it’s 5-10 minutes away from Halls Gap Zoo. As an animal and zoo junkie, I loved being so close. - 15 minutes drive from the main town of Halls Gap and the Grampians National Park - Wildlife - I loved seeing kangaroos and deer roaming freely as I drove back to my cottage each afternoon. I also saw an assortment of native birds and even a blue tongue lizard.
