We have stayed previously at Crown Towers and Crown Metropol but had never stayed at the Crown Promenade. However, they offered a deal that felt too good to pass up, so we decided to try them out. Based on the price paid, we found the room to be more than satisfactory. The access to the casino too actually felt closer and easier to us than accessing it from the Metropol. The only glitch in our room was that the mini-bar and fridge were already missing several items when we checked in. I didn't want to get stiffed (charged) for those, so I just rang housekeeping and let them know, and they did actually come and replenish the items quite promptly, which was appreciated. Would I stay here again? Absolutely.

“Nothing royal about the Crown Promenade”

Not usually the one to complain but we found Crown Promenade really dropped the ball. We just spent 2 nights at Crown Metropol Melbourne and unfortunately they couldnt extend our stay last minute so we moved across to the Crown Promenade. We know this is the cheaper of the three in the Melbourne chain but currently very similarly priced to its higher standard sister hotel Crown Metropol but no where near the service. Don’t get me wrong, the city view is worth the extra $30 but super lacking on service and no pool or spa currently open due to maintenance (meaning we have to lug our fam of 5 (3 boys aged 6 and under to sister properties - easier said than done - parents you understand) (also for fellow travellers this will be the case until 15 Aug - be warned)), plus the availability of the $85 per night valet service being no where to be seen when we needed to handover our keys, to the lack of availability and problem solving capacity of guest services failing to provide a solution to the unavailable online in room dining menu just to be transferred to a what felt like never ending ringing phone. Honestly guys, just pay the extra bit and stay at the Metropol.

Hotel co-located with a conference, otherwise we would have stayed elsewhere. Rooms are very good, although we found getting service difficult on one occasion, where we requested room made up between 10:30 and 17:00 and had to call several more times to get it done after we arrived back to find it … more

Hotel co-located with a conference, otherwise we would have stayed elsewhere. Rooms are very good, although we found getting service difficult on one occasion, where we requested room made up between 10:30 and 17:00 and had to call several more times to get it done after we arrived back to find it not done. Don't expect any in-hotel amenities apart from a small express coffee place. No concierge, no restaurant, no bar--this is not for holiday travellers unless you love a casino, which is next door under the sister hotel. Very poor value in my opinion. High room rates with very little attention to paying guests' comfort. Sterile atmosphere--clean but impersonal. If you're interested in seeing anything other than the inside of your room or the casino, find somewhere else.
