An ultra lux and newer property located in the vibrant (and new) Elizabeth quay on the Swan River in downtown Perth. We travel frequently and stay in lots of hotels around the world and I can honestly say this one is in our top tier. Normally we are moving about and staying only 2-3 days but because of a freakishly rare tropical cyclone, we ended up extending our stay for a week and we never got tired of the hotel or location. The staff went over and above made our day when they were able to switch things around and let us continue on in our fabulous room (1011) with a great water view when we extended. Like so many luxury properties this hotel features spacious rooms, comfortable beds, sweeping views a giant bathroom with rain shower and a AMAZING buffet breakfast which we had included in our rate. There was something for everyone and things changed a bit day to day. But, the real standout here is the absolutely AMAZING STAFF. From the moment we arrived and were directed how to go inside and where to check in by Jack we felt welcomed. At the front desk Tanish continued the positive experience facilitating an early check-in and lots of helpful information. Max at the bell desk became our go-to for help and questions when Uber couldn’t quite find there way to the lobby, or where to watch Australian Footy. It really felt more like staying with friends the way we were treated-this hotel is a poster child for customer service. We liked the location with lots of restaurants and just a short walk to the ferry for Rottenest island. The price for this quality of hotel was VERY reasonable-in part due to the favorable exchange rate for the $US. I could go on an on but I think you get the idea….5 stars doesn’t do the staff and hotel justice. The perfect spot for a short or unanticipatedly long stay. Thanks to all the staff!! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

“Overall a good stay but with some niggling issues”

We were so excited to book and stay a night at this hotel on the last night of our month long trip travelling around Australia but we were left slightly disappointed. Firstly the positives - a lovely check in experience, a nice welcome, a very beautiful hotel with excellent amenities and a fantastic location. The room was great - very spacious, the bathroom was exceptional. The bed was reasonably comfortable. The temperature was fine. The window blind options were a nice touch. The robe and slippers were very welcome and comfortable. The bath was excellent. And on to the negatives - we ordered from the all day menu at the bar downstairs. When it arrived the order was incorrect (we ordered two Snapper but was given Octopus), this wouldn’t have been too much of an issue however the Octopus contained chorizo. We are both pescatarian and so don’t eat meat but eat fish/seafood. When I explained this, it was sorted straight away and the correct dishes were provided. However, there was very little in the way of an apology, I felt like I was a nuisance for raising the issue. The fact that the dishes contained meat could have been significantly distressing to us had we not realised and ate some of it. I would have expected a sincere apology but this was not given. Secondly, when swimming in the lovely infinity pool, I was abruptly told by a staff member that I was not supposed to be in there as it was closed for maintenance. I was already aware that a closure was in operation at check in but not at the time I was swimming as I ensured I waited until it reopened. I explained this and the staff member went to check, he returned and apologised as I was in the right. Again, this should not have happened as he should have been made aware of the closure times before approaching us. Thirdly, the bed had a very bad quality quilt which left us with itchy skin and red blotches. This needs to be looked at. I did speak to the receptionist about the incorrect dishes issue and she apologised but I would have expected a follow up regarding this upon check out but it was not mentioned. Neutral - breakfast was good, but more veggie cooked options could have been offered. Overall, a mixed experience with issues that could have been easily avoided with improved training for some staff in customer service. As a Gold member with Hotels.com, a Marriot Bonvoy member and for the price of the room, I would have expected a better experience. I am not sure if we would return to this hotel, although the location was spectacular so this may swing it.

Beautiful views of river and bell tower; Good variety of buffet breakfast options; Check in process could be improved- Only one counter was open for checking in resulting in long wait.

Much like the Four Seasons Sydney it’s perfectly located but, again, doesn’t get the job done. We stayed there on 2 different occasions so I had the chance to see 4 rooms total. Much like the Four Seasons Sydney it’s perfectly located but, again, doesn’t get the job done. We stayed there on 2 different occasions so I had the chance to see 4 rooms total. Each room had something broken. And maintenance literally put tape over it to “fix” it. There’s NO concierge service, I couldn’t find one. The food at the Bar is below average and it’s a shame because the bar is incredible. It’s full of people and had NO vibe. A shame. Breakfast, like 4 seasons Sydney was outstanding and the car park/doormen handled the flow well. It’s just a shame, seems like management is lacking.
