“Nice and quiet”

We have a family room on the top floor. Its spacious and quiet. There's fans in the room (dyson type) which helped a lot in the heat. The bathroom is a wet room and is clean. On the whole its top end budget. Definitely recommend. Staff are very nice also. We will try to book again in future.

Ideally located in a quiet neighborhood of Graz and within walking distance from the old town, Haus Mobene offers nice and cozy rooms for at affordable prices. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The WiFi connection is fast and reliable. If you arrive by car be careful to park only in the blue marked areas if Kastellfeldgasse. Overall good value for money!

We stayed at the Hotel Mobene for 4 nights on a B&B arrangement. The hotel itself has an unprepossessing entrance on a quiet side street and backs on to a sports complex. Our room was of adequate size and reasonably cool despite the high temperatures outside. There is a silent lift, and the building, which is not manned during the afternoon, appears to be secure. The are where the hotel is situated is not at all threatening. We opted for their breakfast deal and were overwhelmed by the spread set before us: fruit juice, cereal, fresh fruit, yoghurt, bread rolls, ham, salami, cheese, boiled eggs. On our last day, there must have been more guests staying, because our individual breakfast tray was replaced by a buffet. The centre of Graz is easily reached - just a 5 minute walk to a choice of trams and buses, and we made good use of the Graz 3-day Ticket, which provides free transport within the city, including the funicular up to the castle hill.

When you check-in after 6 p.m., please beware of the absence of hotel staffs. They would come back home after office hour, so you have to call to them, and get the information on your key. Exactly, it is in a post box on the left side of the main gate, but password must be entered. You have to bring your key always so as to open main gate, your room, and even back door to a small garden. Breakfast will be served in different types according to the number of guest, sometimes buffet, sometimes by order in advance. It looks like a mansion, actually an old haus (house) builted 100 years ago, so not easy to find their sign at the first time. Of course, you will be soon familiar with this hotel as days go by. Your room will be cleaned only in the morning, so you have to stay as the same room condition if you miss the time. In the case, just ask to change your towels. The backyard of the hotel is a school with a large playground and swimming pool, so around 9~10 a.m. can make a big noise by pupils, but I enjoyed it. :-) My rooms has a small kitchen, but I am not sure all the rooms are the same. As a SPAR is located near the hotel, it is convenient to buy some foods. The distance to old city town is around 10 minutes by walk, to Kunsthaus would be over 20 minutes. You can take bus 630 or 631to Graz airport after 8~10 minutes walk. The price is 2.20 euros. The hotel, really haus, is quite comfortable to stay with reasonable price !
