We came from Finland to do some country country skiing in Austria. Our criteria for choosing the hotel was that it has to look nice, be of good quality, be peaceful/ relaxing and have good food: Via Salina fulfilled all these perfectly! Service was very good and friendly by everybody (two personnel members in the restaurant were exceptionally nice that I decided to remember their names so that I could mention them in Tripadvisor - now I am afraid that it took me so long to write this that I have forgotten both though :-) . The rooms were also good, tidy and comfortable and there was a nice view to the lake from the balcony. The toilet was cold, but luckily there was a separate bath room: one could not have washed oneself in the coldness... In the spa there was a pool area, sauna land with several different saunas and a quiet room with water beds for relaxing, It was a nice surrounding to get ones strength back after some hours of skiing! What did we need the strength in the evening for: not much else than for the dinner and early night, The dinner is, however, an important part of a holiday. Here the food was good, restaurant nice, service friendly and view magnificent: one could not hope for more...

We were en-route from Bled to Calais and wanted to find something out of the way and different to our usual overnight stops. We found Via Salina. The first thing that I have to say is that the staff are amazing! Helpful, smiling and highly efficient. The location is beautiful, overlooking the lake with the mountains and forest beyond. Sadly we didn't get one of the better rooms, ours was on the roadside and it's surprising how much traffic goes through a little village in the middle of nowhere. The room was Tyrolean and somewhat overheated for our liking but comfortable and well equipped. This is not a cheap hotel, the room rate, the food and the drinks are all expensive but the hotel is lovely and the food was very good. It suited our one night requirement with on site, secure parking and a comfortable bed. For a longer stay?

“Amazing hotel! ”

I can strongly recommend this place - it's thr only proper waterfront hotel in the area. The rooms are large and have amazing balconies (make sure not to book standard level rooms). I can strongly recommend this place - it's thr only proper waterfront hotel in the area. The rooms are large and have amazing balconies (make sure not to book standard level rooms). Staff is nice, food is good. Particularly breakfast. Comes with free lift passes for hiking. Great place for hikes, bike rides swimming. Pool area and jetty are lovely too.

“4 star???”

Let me first say that Via Salina has the most amazing views of this region in Haldensee. It is a beautiful hotel. There were two couples of us, friends that we had not been with since corona. Let me first say that Via Salina has the most amazing views of this region in Haldensee. It is a beautiful hotel. There were two couples of us, friends that we had not been with since corona. Both couples had experienced some other illness during our time apart so we’re so looking forward to great spa times. We four had all booked cosmetic and massages. When we arrived we were told that the massage techniques (2) were sick and it may be an issue for us to get our massages. We were told to keep checking back with the front desk, which we did numerous times. Our dinner table upon arrival was for two people and not four. We were told the next morning it would be a table for four…it was not. That evening we finally received an appropriate table. We experienced no hot water for one full day during our stay also. I understand issues happen but we had multiple. A four star hotel should be able to have a plan B in place so a customer would not have so many issues. We should not have had to keep checking whether or not we could be provided massages. We ended up canceling because we were tired of asking. For compensation for our hot water issue we were provided a free glass of Sekt that evening for dinner…..really? When we checked out after our six night stay there was no compensation provided to us for our trouble. This was somewhat disappointing. Would I stay there again? I loved the area, the walks, the views, etc…but I would not take the chance to repeat a stay because of our issues. I wish I could say different because many of the servers, Kristina at the front desk, cleaning staff were amazing.
