This is a whimsical and charming hotel that I return to whenever I visit Steyr. You will love being transported to the Renaissance, to a place from another time that steels your heart and captivates your imagination. The staff work seamlessly to answer every question, satisfy your every need, and exceed all your expectations. Upon entering through the glass doors, there is an elevator located on the ground around the corner to the left. Although, I prefer to use the stairways and navigate the halls of this Baroque masterpiece, admiring its artistry and tradition with a sense of curiosity. The establishment is always decorated to celebrate each and every seasonal holiday. ;D We booked a Junior Suite for three nights and it was pleasantly large, with dining space galore and a full kitchen containing all of the essentials. The bathroom has two sinks and the bathtub has a plethora of jets. We slept very comfortably and enjoyed nightly turn-down service. Our room had beautiful beamed ceilings and plenty of storage space. There is a stunning view of the quintessential romantic village out of the ample windows from the living area. You can hear birds chirping, church bells chiming, and view the beautiful skyline while your imagination runs away with you. From the living area we watched a movie (A Complete Unknown). It was easy to login to the streaming apps and navigate the programs on the television. Also, we added the breakfast to our reservation at check-in and were so happy we did!! It's the best breakfast with eggs prepared any way you like, fresh fruits and vegetables and a sandwich deli with unique spreads. The bread is so fresh and the beverages are bountiful, including fresh pressed juice. It was especially amazing for Easter Brunch, with everything my heart desired in a completely beautiful atmosphere. We enjoyed a personalized visit with the proprietor, Hans Mader, and he gave us some great tips, like visiting the nearby Steyr Museum and the Tabor Turn for the tower view, where to grab dinner during holiday hours, and the best white wine. We also found many local monuments during our meandering walk through this gorgeous and historic region. My only regret is not booking a longer stay! I have easily spent 5+ nights here because the Junior Sweet is incredible and there is so much to see and do within such a short distance: Shopping and walking along the river, Schnapsgeschenke Stöger for schnapps tastings and gifts, Fine Line clothing boutique, Xin Xin Chinese Restaurant and the Galeria, Lamberg Castle, Biking to Krems, Kalkalpen Park, Christkindl Post Office, Tabor Turn, Camping at the River in Municholz. “Enjoyed our visit to Steyr! Great hotel.”

We made a two-night stop in Steyr, as a base for visiting nearby sites such as Melk Abbey and Mauthausen concentration camp. We found the town to be charming, lots of cute shops. This hotel is at the center of the altstadt. Rooms were nice, breakfast was very good, all in all we would recommend!

After booking into a different hotel for the first night of our stay in Steyr and being thoroughly disappointed, we were fortunate enough to be able to book a suite in the Mader Hotel for the last two nights of our stay. Sarah on reception, was extremely helpful and booked us into the bridal suite, which was perfect. It was spacious, peaceful, luxurious, comfortable and relaxing. It was furnished with a large, comfortable sofa, a desk, with mini bar and hospitality tray. There was a large flat screen TV, which was perfect for my husband to watch football! The bathroom had a bath tub and a separate shower. Everything was finished to an extremely high standard. We couldn't have asked for a better room. Breakfast is taken in the conservatory or outside in the courtyard. There is plenty of bread, meat, cheese, cereal, fruit, yoghurt and cooked breakfast items available. The hotel is on the main street of Steyr. There is limited short term parking available outside the hotel, but you can drop your luggage off, then park at a nearby longstay carpark, which is €6 a day when you purchase a ticket from reception. There are also a few parking spaces available in the hotel garage, which is separate from the hotel. These have to be booked well in advance. We really enjoyed our stay and look forward to staying again. Most definitely recommended! Thank you!

“Great hotel in the center of the city”

I stayed one night there but I was really impressed by the hospitality, by the atmosphere, by the great view from the window. Because when I stayed there only 2 rooms occupied, breakfast was served by Mr. Mader in the room, and I felt special.
