“Family room is roasting”

Nice hotel, very clean, however the family room we were in was tiny, located on the attic with one roof window and no Aircon. There was a fan, but the room was absolutely roasting. We did not sleep well. Take it into account when traveling with kids. Beds are comfy, bathroom also fine. Parking for a night 15€ seems expensive.

“Fair enough hotel, with an extremely rude staff.”

The lady at the front desk refused to greet me or even speak to me at check- out, even if I speak German. The only time she spoke to me was when she shouted at me when I dropped the key in the box named “Sclüssel”, after I asked her if I should, without an answer. .

“Easy too improve”

Location is very good, close to station, walking distance to the city. Room was large and well furnished, modern, spacy bathroom, all fine - just the matrace was much too soft, not to say overused / old. Location is very good, close to station, walking distance to the city. Room was large and well furnished, modern, spacy bathroom, all fine - just the matrace was much too soft, not to say overused / old. I stay three nights, second I tried the other side of the bed, slightly better, but still hanging. Breakfast is nothing too special but really good coffee, good choice of bread and juices, softcheese but presentation of meat and cheese slices is urgently to improve, it looks like taken from the butcher bag and just lay down. First evening arriving later I went with colleagues to the in-hotel restaurant - this is definitely not a recommendation. The cutlet was thin, very dry baked and salty - the potato wedges completely oversalted, not eatable, confirmed by the waiter, but no excuse, no offer to get other or discount on dinner, other table I could see the faces trying the wedges ... same, so the chief is no option for a restaurant, I wonder that they can operate such size restaurant, probably just hotel guests staying short period. ...or I took the day where the actual chief is off, but with such presentation there is no second chance.

After a tiring long journey we have arrived to Wels, Austria on the 30th September in late afternoon about 6.30. on our arrival the receptionist asked us which star room we would like to stay 3 or 4 star? After a tiring long journey we have arrived to Wels, Austria on the 30th September in late afternoon about 6.30. on our arrival the receptionist asked us which star room we would like to stay 3 or 4 star? What two different standard in the same hotel? Wow I've never been asked this before in my extensive travelling worldwide. We were tired and very hungry just wanted to have some hot food and a beer to chill out. Sorry, we don't serve food on Sunday was the answer and the bar is shut as well. You can get some cold sandwich and drinks from the vending machines in front of the hotel. That's it or a big nothing. I have learned that there is no restaurant open in the town on Sunday afternoon. (Wels population apr. 60000) I am amazed that the residents in Wels don't eat out on the Sunday???. Advise; avoid Wels on the Sundays. We had a reasonably good cooked breakfast the following morning which has set us up for our journey all the way to Hungary.
