The staffs were very friendly, respectful, helpful and accommodating. The hotel is very clean, very shiny, minimalist design. Accessible to the high street, taxi, restaurants.Its abt 10-15 mins walk to get to the main shopping malls. The breakfast was good , it has everything. Free WiFi, pol and gym. We had a good stay. They gave us a very spacious room and we really liked it but sadly no bidet so we had to change rooms the following day. The room we were given smaller half the size compared from the first one. The Aircon took time to cool the room , the toilet flash needed helping as water flow continuously sometimes, very moody .The water splashes out between the gaps from the shower door and the corner which made the flooring wet outside . The room have no window to get fresh air. The lights in the room are good to relax but not to put your make up on..

“Nice hotel but not 4 star”

Just returned from 5 nights at Acevi Villarroel and although this hotel is nice, I don’t think it is quite 4 star. Just returned from 5 nights at Acevi Villarroel and although this hotel is nice, I don’t think it is quite 4 star. The rooms are nice and spacious, and the beds are comfy but compared to other 4 star hotels I have stayed in, you don’t get bottles of water each day. If you want to take a bottle of water out of the mini fridge it is £2.50 –for a small bottle of water. You are 20 minutes walking distance into Barcelona town centre which is very good or 20 minutes on the bus, to pretty much the centre of Barcelona. We didn’t use the restaurant for any meals, breakfast is 15 per day, but it was very quiet each day and when you can visit some of the tasty café’s in Barcelona I wouldn’t bother with this. What really annoyed me about this hotel is the spa situation, you only get 1 hour per day in here and it is only for 6 people. I tried to book the sauna/spa each night 6pm-7pm before going out for a meal and 2 of the 5 nights it was fully booked. Then the third night, I had booked the spa for 6pm-7pm only to turn up at reception to collect the key to be told it was fully booked and the guy on reception had double booked. Luckily I managed to get in at 7pm, but the sauna wasn’t working, it remained out of use for the remainder of the trip which was poor. The spa is good, but you have to pay for a locker. The staff members are very friendly though, however lots of the rooms around the reception/gym area are key locked so you have either have to use your key card or a card in reception to access the room. Even the toilets in reception require a key card. Overall a nice stay, but I would look to book another hotel if I returned to Barcelona.

“Not great”

The window did not close properly and the bed was rock hard. However, the hotel was clean and there was location good with just half an hour walk on a beautiful avenue to reach the main shopping area in Barcelona . Also the staff were friendly and helpful.
