I would rate this stay a 4.5 out of 5. Clean, quiet room. We heard very little noise from the other guests in the hallway. Room was very spacious for a European hotel and there was an elevator to get to the 2nd and 3rd floors. The large double bed was closer to the size of an American king size bed which was perfect for my husband and I. Bedding was simple, but comfortable and clean. Loft area with two twin beds for our kids was fun and kept their belongings up out of the way when walking in and out of our room. Some areas of the room showed some wear and tear, such as some paint chipping from the shower surround area and door entry way. Floors were concrete and a bit cool during winter travel, if you are walking around barefoot. On site breakfast was delicious with a wonderful assortment of freshly baked breads, croissants, fresh juices and fruit, meats, cheeses, and yogurt with assorted toppings. The eating area was spacious and welcoming. There was an additional charge for breakfast, as it was not included with our stay. The hotel staff were very welcoming and friendly and helped with suggestions of where to eat when we first arrived. Location was down a very small little street. Upon arrival at night it was a bit confusing as to where to enter the hotel and the street was not very well lit. It felt like an alley way. It is located about 5 minutes from a metro station and in an area with lots of shopping. Walking around during the day was much better than at night.

“An average hotel but in a good location and a delightful little courtyard pool”

If it were not for the courtyard and the pool this would be a decidedly average hotel. The rooms themselves are pretty small and basic with only limited space. If it were not for the courtyard and the pool this would be a decidedly average hotel. The rooms themselves are pretty small and basic with only limited space. The bathroom was a reasonable size but could have done with a bit of an upgrade, it looked rather worn. The breakfast selection was OK but nothing to particularly write home about. The hotel is 'saved' by its little walled garden and small outdoor pool which is heated and so I was still able to take a nighttime dip in late November. The spot is attractive and a definite plus as is the hotel location. It is just a ten minute walk to the metro station and the centre of Brussels is easy to access by metro or on foot (allow 20-30 minutes). Overall, this is really a budget-style hotel albeit one with a garden and a pool.
