Hotel is in a nice quiet location but still within reach of everything Mitte has to offer. Located right next to a U2 station it’s easy to get anywhere in Berlin. Reception staff very friendly and efficient. Excellent breakfast. Quality produce with the option of freshly cooked egg and pancake dishes. Room was comfortable and clean. Great hairdryer included.

“Perfect 4-Night Stay in the Heart of Berlin”

We’ve just returned from a wonderful 4-night stay at art’otel Berlin Mitte, and honestly, it was first class from start to finish. The location is simply the best — right in the heart of the city and just a short stroll to Museum Island. It made exploring Berlin effortless, with so many major sights within easy walking distance and great public transport connections nearby. Our room was spacious, bright, and absolutely spotless. The beds were exactly how we like them — firm and incredibly comfortable — which meant we slept brilliantly every night. The reception team were fantastic throughout our stay. They gave excellent restaurant recommendations and were always happy to help us navigate the public transport system, which made getting around the city so easy. A special mention to Akshay behind the bar, who whisked up amazing drinks each evening while sharing a little history of the building — such a lovely personal touch that really enhanced the experience. Breakfast was another highlight. The selection of both cooked and cold items was extensive and delicious, and we especially appreciated that it was served until 11am — perfect for a leisurely city break like ours. All in all, an outstanding stay in a superb location. We wouldn’t hesitate to return and highly recommend it to anyone visiting Berlin!

I’ve been staying at this hotel for several years and overall I still enjoy it, though it does feel like it has slipped slightly over time. The location remains excellent, with a subway station right outside, the rooms are nice, and the beds are very comfortable. There are, however, a few changes I’ve noticed. Previously, if you stayed more than two nights and chose not to have your room serviced, you could collect four complimentary items from the small ‘shop’ – things like a beer, a small bottle of wine, crisps, nuts, snacks or chocolate bars. That’s no longer offered. The bar, Upside Down, is still a lovely space, but they no longer serve bar snacks either. Breakfast continues to be very good, especially with the option of freshly cooked eggs. However the boiled eggs that are in the buffet are always cold, not even a bit warm, but proper cold In my room, I had a some minor issues: both desk lamps weren’t working, and there’s a large black three-metre light fixture just below the ceiling that doesn’t seem to serve any real purpose. The window handle pole, which should twist to allow the window to open, also appears to be broken. A few of the TV channels didn’t work so well, very pixelated/frozen picture that indicated it was losing signal/poor reception. Really annoying when there are only 3 or 4 TV channels in your language and the only one you do want to actually watch is the one that’s faulty! None of these were major problems, and I didn’t raise them at the time as I prefer not to have someone in the room while I’m working for the sake of small niggles. Plus, it was only a 3 night stay. That said, it does give the impression that the property has become a little neglected over the years. As a VIP member with the highest status membership, I also didn’t receive a room upgrade despite the hotel not being particularly busy, nor was there any recognition of my status at check-in. Nor was I able to get a late check out due to the hotel being “fully booked” which it wasn’t ( You can check this by doing a dummy booking on the hotel website – at least 12 rooms were available!) Would I stay here again? Quite possibly. It’s still a pleasant place to stay – it just feels like it could benefit from a little more attention to detail.
