We really loved it. We stayed for about nine days and enjoyed the spacious room, the pool in the evening after the beach, the caipirinhas, fabulous breakfast, attentive staff, chairs and parasoles at the beach. There was Internet in public areas and it worked well, in the room we weren't able to get the best signal though, which wasn't a problem since we got ourselves Brazilian SIM cards at a near by grocery store. A/C worked well in the room which is really important when you come from a place in the world with a much cooler and less humid weather as Alagoa's. In the room there was HD TV but it was only Brazilian stations, I would have appreciated a few other international TV station options as well. We enjoyed the quietness and charm of the hotel, being distant to the busiest part of Barra was definitely a plus for us. We hired a car from the airport and we were never short of a place to park at the hotel and were able to drive ourselves to different beaches around, Maceió and places to have dinner at night. Thank you very much to Marcos and Vivá Barra's whole staff for the marvelous stay we spent at their little place of heaven on earth.

My husband and I really loved this inn. It has a really nice feel to it, everything seems brand new (probably because the inn itself is pretty new), and it's well decorated with lots of plants and gardens around the entire place. The room was very spacious, with plenty of counter space, the bed was big and comfortable, there was a nice balcony with a hammock facing the garden. Everything was very clean. The bathroom was nice, great shower with lots of water pressure and solar heating. Although the sink and shower are not separated from the room by a wall, only a wooden room divider, which could bother some people, but didn't bother us. Breakfast was delicious, there were always two choices of home made cake which were very good, lots of fruit, and there are plenty of local options. You can also order tapioca or scrambled eggs from the kitchen. The staff was very friendly. The pool was nice. Not too big, but big enough to cool off. There's a very tall waterfall in the middle of the pool that they turn on during the day, which I loved. The only problem I found with this inn is that it's a little far from the prime location in Barra de São Miguel. It's right next to the beach, but the sea there is very agitated, you can't really swim. We saw a few people surfing. You have to walk at least 1km to get to the calm water which is protected by coral reefs. If you walk about 2km you get to the best part of the town, where there are restaurants and shops, and the ocean is really calm, like a giant swimming pool. If you don't mind the walk, or have a car with you, I highly recommend this place. Also, there was construction going on across the street, and very often an alarm would go off there. It didn't bother us in the room, since our room was far from the street, but you could hear it a little from the pool and I imagine for those staying in the rooms facing the street it must be very annoying.

Simple guest house with lovely vibe. Spacious rooms, delicious breakfast with some local options. The staff goes all the way to accomodate your needs. Two steps from the amazing Barra de São Miguel beach!

I stayed at Viva at this summer, sharing a room with two friends and got very impressed with the hotel. I could highlight the fact that the hotel is NEW, very CLEAN, with a MODERN decoration and offer a typical and TASTEFUL breakfast and appetizers. However, the most important differential at Vivá is its OUTSTANDING ATTENDANCE. Marco, a lawyer that is the owner of the hotel, is a detailed oriented person that takes care not only about things but about PEOPLE. He and his team are smiling, lovely, generous and tireless to help about everything you may need !!! I feel very comfortable to recommend: enjoy the beautiful and warm beaches of Barra de São Miguel and stay with them :)
