“Fine hotel before going to the Amazonas”

Fine hotel to use as a stopover before going into the Amazonas. The hotel has a good location close to the old city center and a fine little swimming pool for relaxing. The staff are friendly and the restaurant at the hotel serves ok food. Also the breakfast is fine.

I had an excellent experience during my stay at Hotel Saint Paul. My plane arrived from São Paulo without my luggage ( a frequent mishap on that route it seems), but the help from the night porter at 2 o'clock in morning supplying assistance and getting me to my room was much appreciated. The staff was always extremely polite and very helpful both with domestic matters and matters of cultural significance in a Southamerican metropolis. The beds are huge, the aircondition adjustable to any temperature, the bathroom are sparkling and frequently cleaned. The breakfast is excellent with three warm meals, bread and 5-6 types of sliced fruit. In addition to coffee they had a large variety of Brazilian juices. And the restaurant open at night serves both basic and more specialized meals. Considering its central location, the very good service and the pleasant tone of voice at the reception I have no problem giving this hotel four large stars.

“Good hotel, good value for money in a great location”

We stayed here the night before and the night after our Amazon tour. The rooms were well equipped and comfortable. The location is good and only a few minutes walk to the square where the opera house, bars and restaurants are located. The staff were friendly and the breakfast was adequate.

Hotel is in a. Condo complex. Some rooms were occupied by non guests/ residents? Not sure. I thought the check in was a bit confusing as I was sent to rooms whose doors could not be open twice at 1:30 am. Some lifts also did not work for my floor. Hotel is in a. Condo complex. Some rooms were occupied by non guests/ residents? Not sure. I thought the check in was a bit confusing as I was sent to rooms whose doors could not be open twice at 1:30 am. Some lifts also did not work for my floor. One lift door slammed shut so loudly every time it must be quite a startle for the units next to it. Other than this rocky start and minor issues, the rooms were actually quite spacious and nice. The air conditioning also worked well. Wifi was also good. Breakfast was a spread every morning though more or less the same. There’s a small pool and also a gym. Staff were friendly and spoke perfect English. Would recommend.

There was a safe, air con, fridge and a hairdryer Good shower and nice toiletries The bed was very comfortable. The breakfast was OK, not a great selection. There was a swimming pool but I didn’t use it. The lift was very slow.
