I visited here with my friend for three days and I had the best time! The food here is absolutely great and the service is amazing ! The price and location is something you won’t see in other places , just fantastic! Thank you very much for the stay . Recommended for everyone

I would like to thank the owner and his staff for providing us a room when a more expensive hotel decided to ignore my reservation that I already booked 11 months before we arrived and sold our room for more $ and because we were Americans. Horizonte dos Borbos took us in, gave us a very clean room and was extremely nice to us. The rooms are small but they are very clean and have air conditioning. They have a very good breakfast selection and tea time too. They are very close to main street so you do not have to drag your suitcases too far to get there. Thank you Horizonte dos Borbos for a great stay!

Great location very close to the main town, but far enough away to be quiet. The bedroom / bathroom were a good size, very clean and comfortable. Good selection available from the minibar at reasonable prices. There was a great selection of food at breakfast, and cakes / tea in the evening too if you so wished. We stayed over the Easter weekend so prices were a bit more expensive, but looks more reasonable outside of high peak. Would recommend!

“Comfortable quiet location”

This pousada has a good location just off the busy main pathways where restaurants are located. No view from our room but we enjoyed our low key stay here in adjoining rooms for 5 of us. The rooms were clean and the shower wonderful! The room is small but adequate for the price. The bed was on the firm side and you may need more than one pillow. Air con is available plus fans. We had rooms 2 and 3 on ground floor and that suited us with children but the breakfast is served on the tables immediately outside door so you may prefer room 4. Upstairs may be quieter. The breakfast is delightful with plenty of options. Delcious range of fresh fruit, meats and cheese, scrambled eggs, good coffee and there's cake as well. Afternoon tea with cake also provided. Outdoors there is a small flowered garden. Giovani and Honey speak English and were very helpful. We were 'persuaded' by a young man at ferry to carry our light bags and paid R $30. Resist unless bags are heavy. It's very easy to walk. Turn left from ferry and take first right, left at T junction over small bridge and pousada is 20 metres on your right. For a boat trip we recommend doing a speedboat tour that takes you to the other end of island starting with the Gruta do Acaia cave visit R $10 pp extra. Don't go if claustrophobic and it does NOT suit small children.I am 67 and loved the adventure of it but not my husband. It is challenging as cave roof is low and ladder is steep. We also visited Aracatiba for crystal clear water swim and Lagoa Azul where the small fish are abundant and coral is pretty. A person takes lunch order for Japariz so it's ready when you arrive. It's well set up and i loved my thick, fresh white fish. Saco do Ceu and Feiiceira after lunch. There's a magnificent forest trail above the cottage for short shady walk. I loved this day and it's worth paying extra for the faster boat to see more. Departed at about 10.30 and returned about 5 hours later. They supply good snorkel gear. Can be windy possibly cold ehen boat is speeding so bring some protection. The pousada afternoon tea was welcome upon return. Ilha Grande is heaven and all very reasonably priced. Credit is available on island but take cash as well. Felt very safe there and loved the shopping. There's even a cachaca shop. Enjoy this peaceful place as close to heaven as you can get.
