Great location for a budget hotel - easy access to the southern ends of both Copacabana and Ipanema beaches. Very friendly and helpful staff. Safe neighbourhood - police station next door. Good places to eat nearby - especially the buffet two doors along - and plenty of small supermarkets for mineral water etc. The rooms are not plush but functional and there are no great views - reflected the hotel's star rating and comparatively affordable price - but all absolutely adequate. The front street is noisy (it's Rio !) and the higher you are at the back the quieter it is. We enjoyed our stay and would recommend for this price level.

“Good hotel & location”

The hotel was good, nice common areas, great breakfast and a nice swimming pool at the rooftop. The location is great and the surrounding area feels safe. The staff were great and helpful. The room, however, needs some TLC but overall good for the price paid.

My spouse and I stayed at BB Posto 5 from April 24, 2026, for 5 nights. The breakfast was good and the location was excellent. The staff spoke English and were generally helpful. However, we had several issues: although we paid for a better room, we were given a standard one. The room initially had no safe, which was only provided after we complained. Air conditioning had problems in all rooms we used. One bathroom had a leaking shower. There was no telephone in the rooms, so we had to go to reception for any request. Pool towels were also not clean. Overall, the stay was average due to these issues.

We stayed at BB Posto 5 in Rio for 5 days and had to change rooms three times. Even though we paid the highest price and were promised the best room, we were given rooms two floors below the top floor. None of the three rooms had a safe at first, though one was later provided. We stayed at BB Posto 5 in Rio for 5 days and had to change rooms three times. Even though we paid the highest price and were promised the best room, we were given rooms two floors below the top floor. None of the three rooms had a safe at first, though one was later provided. The air conditioning also had problems. On the positive side, the breakfast was good. However, although all the reception staff spoke English, they were not helpful.
