I always enjoy the Sao Paulo Renaissance Hotel, a real jewel in the heart of Sao Paulo and located just off Paulista Avenue. In my most recent stay, a three-night stay from January 30 to February 2, 2026, I felt favorably impressed with the friendly front desk staff, the efficient and timely daily housekeeping service, and the restaurants on-site, including the lounge and the Terraco Jardins Restaurant. In fact, on my last night, two of the waiters at the lounge said, “We’ll see you tomorrow.” “No, I’m leaving tomorrow.” “Oh, that’s too bad,” they said. As a hotel room television connoisseur, I felt especially impressed with the extensive selection of TV channels, including HBO, and many of the channels broadcast in English. As a native English speaker, I appreciated that feature.

Dear Renaissance São Paulo Leadership Team, I am writing to express my sincere appreciation and highest recommendation for the exceptional service I experienced during my stay at the Renaissance São Paulo Hotel. From the moment I arrived, I was met with professionalism, warmth, and genuine care that went truly above and beyond. Emely, who assisted me at check-in, set the tone for my entire stay with her welcoming attitude and efficiency. At the front desk, Luna, Vitor, and Milena consistently demonstrated outstanding hospitality, always attentive, friendly, and eager to help with anything I needed. I would especially like to recognize Kaiky from the “At Your Service” desk, who went out of his way to make special arrangements so I could enjoy a Chester for Christmas dinner. This thoughtful gesture made my holiday feel incredibly special and memorable, and it truly reflected the hotel’s commitment to personalized service. Finally, I would like to commend Guga, the Manager of Food Services, who is an exceptional ambassador for the Renaissance brand. His leadership and dedication are evident in the way guests are treated — with warmth, care, and a genuine feeling of being at home rather than simply staying at a hotel. Thanks to this remarkable team, my stay was not only comfortable but genuinely memorable. Check-in was excellent. After an overnight flight from the U.S., I arrived at the hotel at 7:30 a.m. expecting a long wait for my room. I had breakfast, left my bags, and went to a pre-scheduled haircut, assuming I wouldn’t be able to check in until 3 p.m. To my surprise, when I returned at 10:30 a.m., the wonderful front-desk staff member checked me in early without hesitation. At the end of the week, I had another overnight flight back to the U.S. Because of the late departure, the front desk proactively offered me a 3 p.m. late checkout. As the day approached, I realized I would still be facing a long wait at the airport—so they graciously extended it to 5 p.m. All of these accommodations were completely complimentary. The only upgrade I paid for was moving from the 8th floor to the 24th-floor Admiral’s Club level, which included access to a private dining room with stunning views and a business center I used throughout the week. The spa was exceptional—so much so that I visited three times in one week. Usually, overpriced or lackluster hotel spas are a one-and-done experience for me, but this one was reasonably priced, professionally run, and genuinely relaxing. Each therapist provided an excellent massage. The hot tub, sauna, and steam room all maintained the high European temperatures I prefer. They also offered multiple herbal teas with manual glass beaker-type brewers, cookies before treatments, and a serene relaxation room afterward. The facilities and services were outstanding. Food throughout the property was very good—from the main-floor restaurant and busy bar to the top-floor private dining area. While not destination dining, everything was tasty and convenient, especially for relaxed meals when you want to stay inside the hotel. The lounges were beautifully decorated, comfortable, and created an ideal atmosphere for relaxing, talking with friends, or enjoying a drink. Outside the hotel, the location is excellent. Although São Paulo carries a Level 2 travel advisory from the U.S. Department of State, the Paulista area—where the hotel is located—felt vibrant and secure. With great shops, restaurants, bars, and a strong security presence, the neighborhood felt safe at all hours. People jogging, biking, and walking late into the evening added to that sense of safety. I never felt uneasy or had any concerning moments. The One Issue: While the hotel and most of its staff were wonderful, the service at the main-floor bar was consistently disappointing. Across several visits—lunch, late-night drinks, and a quick espresso—I observed the three bartenders engaging in unprofessional behavior, including mocking guests’ accents, gossiping about patrons as soon as they walked away, and generally carrying themselves with an unpleasant, obnoxious attitude. It stood in stark contrast to the kindness and professionalism shown by every other employee I encountered, from front desk to housekeeping. Because of this, I eventually chose to avoid the main bar altogether. Despite this unfortunate inconsistency, the negative bar experience did not diminish the overall quality of my stay. This hotel far exceeded my previous experience in São Paulo, and I would happily stay here again. I just hope they hire more professional bartenders in the future.

Just wanted to share this amazing experience at the Renaissance hotel in Sao Paolo. I had been running from meetings to meetings and arrived tired at reception. Carter, the hotel navigator, showed me a quiet place in the lounge to rest in comfortable chairs and brought heavenly Caipirinha with earth chips ! A piece of perfect relaxation after a chaotic day.
