The hotel is located in an upscale residential area but it is walkable to the livelier shopping and dining streets. It actually pays off to be a few minutes from the hustle and bustle of mohino de ventos. Your dollars will buy you a much better room. The breakfast buffet is simple but good. If you are not thrilled with it, there is an excellent bakery offering good breakfast options just steps away.

This was my first time in POA. B Flat V was a nice, quiet, clean place to stay in a beautiful residential area. I liked being in a safe neighborhood where I could run and walk, even after dark, and even if this meant staying somewhat far from downtown. The accommodations are simple, so what makes it great are the friendly staff. My colleague and I were very impressed with the service and hospitality. We especially enjoyed our interactions with Pamela at the front desk. I would stay here again if ever in POA.

Not the best room, not the quietest room (due to that crazy bird each morning), not the most designer location... but the people - amazing! Good food, good company, good vibe. Loved our stay here on behalf of the Brazilian Government and Canadian Government initiative. Hope to be back soon Porto Alegre! Beautiful pool and patio! Lovely lobby. Entrance is a little wonky. Good distance from PUCRS. Very convenient.

“Starting to show the age”

I stayed at the Bela Vista Service Residence prior almost 3 years ago. Alot has changed since then and some things have stayed the same. I was there for the opening of the Bistro by Linda. The food there was fantastic. 2.5 years later it was usually good, but things have changed. Most of the food was true to the beginning. However the pasta dinners leave something to be desired. But that is the restaurant. As far as the hotel, the staff is always pleasant and very helpful. I do wish their english was a tad better but I need to learn Portuguese as well. BUT! If there is an issue I would expect the signs posted would be both in Portuguese and English for their paying customers. There was an issue with the Hot Water. I guess they developed a leak (it was in the hallway and at first I thought it was the rain) but then there was no hot water for several days. I was told it would be turned on by a certain time and it wasn't. Several days I had to take a cold shower before going to work. Not my most favorite thing. Then the hot water heater that had been leaking into the hallway was replaced. Again, no notice and again whatever notice was posted after I asked about it was in Portuguese. Once the heater was replaced I decided to look at the hot water once I was told it was ready. Rust was rampant. I informed the staff and again the notices were posted in Portuguese. I had to have it translated. Basically the hot water heater was replaced but they never bothered to flush it prior to putting it back into service. It was things like this that bothered me a bit. I tried to cook in my room but the hot plates do not allow you to cook 2 things simultaneously. They are so close together you cannot fit both pots on. At least not with the pots provided. As I said, it is starting to show it's age and I will be searching for better deals the next time I stay in Porto Alegre.
