We stayed here over night, a very brief visit on our way to SP. We checked in late and checked out early, yet the manager was lovely - helped us into town to look around as he was going that way and then at 0200 when we needed a taxi to the bus station offered to drive us himself. The rooms was clean and comfortable. The hot water did not work in our room. Good value for money.

“Nice Inn”

We stayed at Pousada Manaca for 6 days in December 2016 on the holidays and had a great time! The inn have nice clean rooms, good breakfast and nice staff! Sergio is the owner and he support us during the stay in Paraty with tips of places to go etc.. We had a great time and would recommend this... more

We stayed at Pousada Manaca for 6 days in December 2016 on the holidays and had a great time! The inn have nice clean rooms, good breakfast and nice staff! Sergio is the owner and he support us during the stay in Paraty with tips of places to go etc.. We had a great time and would recommend this place. Although we were there in the holidays the price is good.

Paraty is not cheap as in accommodation! Myself and another two friends book this 16 day trip through Brazil way ahead of time and we could not find anything better in Paratay. We were there two nights at end of June. The hotel is 1 km away from centre but right at the entry point in the town, this is why is a little cheaper than the others. It is located right behind the very first gas bar in the city from any direction that you would come from. We paid around $90/a night for double bed rooms with good breakfast included. Which was very good comparing with the other hotels in the area. It is not actually a hotel, it is a Vila with two blocks. Room are nice and very clean, they all have balcony. Comfortable but not big. Flat screen TV but not a fridge. You can use the owners fridge though, the hotel is very friendly, owners will do anything for to feel good. they have a patio you can use, a small pool and a nice interior garden/parking. The owner, Sergio, speaks very good English and he is very accommodating. He offered us beer and snacks from his own stash :) One thing to be aware of. The address on this site, Booking.com and even their web site is WRONG. Also the GPS coordinates are wrong. You will never find the place if you look for Rua Anna Zitha de Alvarenga 14 ! We tried that and didnt find it. We also tried the GPS coordinates from Booking.com and sent us 14km away. THE REAL ADDRESS (also in Google maps) is RUA ANAZITA DE ALVARENGA. This is what you have to punch into GPS to get there.

“Lovely place at the edge of Paraty”

As the bus entered Paraty I asked the driver to drop me off, which he reluctantly did. Pousada Manaca (http://www.manacaparaty.com) is at the edge of town at the top of Avenida Roberto Silveira, the main road into Paraty. You can stay on the bus until the bus terminal but then you'd have to go back to the edge of town, so be brave and get out of the bus as soon as you enter the town, cross the street and you'll walk there in 2 minutes. Sergio, the manager, is very friendly, relaxed and helpful and I immediately felt that I was in the right place. He helped carry my luggage to my room, lent me a bicycle to get around town, helped me sort out accommodation for Trindade (he actually cycled with me into town the next day and made several phone calls) and took me by car to the bus terminal. He also arranged a ticket for a lovely schooner trip. Breakfast is great with a good choice of fresh fruit. There is a small swimming pool in the backyard and coolers with drinks (self-service with a tick list). I first had a room at the front building, which was spacious, very light and shares its balcony with a cozy sitting area on the first floor. The only thing I found lightly annoying were the beeps from the self-service tyre pump at the gas station in front of the house, but when you know what it is it's less annoying. I also had a room in the rear building which had a nice little private balcony to sit and relax. Rooms are spotlessly clean and smell fresh. Good place for families and singles. Sergio speaks English. I'm not sure about the other family members as we spoke Portuguese all the time. I can recommend cycling into the mountains outside Paraty. WiFi available but very unreliable. Sergio, if you get this fixed you have one of the best places in Paraty!
