Myself and my husband had a week here from 20th June, the staff, hotel, food and room we had were all amazing - couldn't have asked for better in any of these areas. The entertainment staff were lovely, only suggestion is for it to start earlier but apart from that no complaints. I would 💯 return and if you are planning a trip here I can highly recommend the Khan's Tent trip it's outstanding and get yourself booked into the onsite Asian restaurant it was really good, couldn't get into the Spanish one during our stay sadly but I'm sure it would be just as good.

Having spent two weeks at the Riu Helios Bay, I found the hotel staff very friendly and helpful. We arrived at 6:30 in the morning due to flight delay and the lady at reception met us all with a smile and stated that food was on in the dining area, but if we wanted we could wait for breakfast which started at 7:30. We checked in and went to our room. The room was large with plenty on cupboard space and drawers, there was a dressing table with a TV on this and a small fridge in the cupboard below. The room also had two small chairs and a round table. The beds were two large single beds pushed together and quite comfortable with bed side cabinets. The room also contained a safety deposit box which you had to pay extra for at reception to get the key for this. The room came with a large balcony which had a view of the black sea and on the balcony was a table and two chairs. The bathroom was a decent size with a wc, shower and wash basin and on the side was complimentary soap, shampoo and shower gel. The housekeeping was very good and attended and cleaned our room every day and also made towel sculptures daily, which was a lovely touch. The dinning area was quite large and the food was good with something for everyone, which was different dishes, meats and salads. There was also a snack bar down stairs which served a continental breakfast from 10am to 11:30am and snacks during the mid afternoon. The bars were very good and plenty of alcoholic or none alcoholic drinks and served by very good and friendly bar staff. There was entertainment on daily during the day and then the evening in the large stage area by the entertainment staff, however when last at this hotel five years ago they had karaoke ever night in the karaoke bar which was used only for karaoke, but during this stay it was only run on one night which was a Thursday from 10:30 till midnight. This was disappointing as most of the live entertainment finished at 10:30pm then just music being played in the stage area. They could have run the karaoke more often than just the one night. All in all a plesent stay.

“Family holiday ”

First aboard holiday with 3 year old son. We have stayed at RIU's before so knew it was an all rounder. Location- nice little town, lovely gardens and park nearby with few restaurants and shops. First aboard holiday with 3 year old son. We have stayed at RIU's before so knew it was an all rounder. Location- nice little town, lovely gardens and park nearby with few restaurants and shops. Not too busy but good enough for a morning trip or if you want to ear out Room- spacious and clean. Maid was brilliant, made beds up daily and room left smelling lovely. Empty mini fridge- kept our bottles cold- did freeze them if they were at the back. Nice powerful shower, plenty of towels, reasonable sized balcony. TV but we didnt use this much- not many english channels. Only 1 pillow per person, my husband found bed uncomfy. Pool- large pool with jacuzzi and inbuilt loungers. This was a bit chilly first thing in mornings but soon got warmed up. Kids pool was good, slides for all ages. The water pump for slides did get turned off for few hours around lunchtime but this suited my son as he wasnt a fan of the spray. Indoor pool good and we used this the first day when it rained all day. Plenty of loungers available Other loungers available in "sand" areas, this was good as no free loungers on beach and my son could still build sandcastles without being too far from other pool. Kids facilities- my son loved the play park, well maintained but no shade, so had to be mindful equipment wasnt too hot. We went to the kids club once, I had to stay as he was under 4. Very little toys and things for younger ones to play with. He didnt enjoy it as didnt feel very involved so didnt go again. He enjoyed the kids disco, same songs every night- little variety. Food & drink- average. We always go all inclusive and I'd say this was mediocre. Hot buffet was varied every night, occasionally a theme. Bulgarian night was the best. Always pasta, pizza, salad, fruit, icecream but these were pretty much the same every day. Breakfast pastries were dry. Lager was nice, wine too sweet for me. Cocktails pre mixed but ok if having 1 or 2. We didnt try the spanish or Asian restaurant, it wasnt clear where to book in for these. General- reception staff very helpful and waiting staff were very efficient. Entertainment was not really my thing, too "butlins" for me! The entertainment staff did shifts all day and they often did the evening shows. The best one we saw was an external group for latino night. We didnt try the karaoke bar. This was no fault of the hotel but I found other holiday makers staying here quite rude. Lot of kids left unsupervised around pool, running around the restaurant, people pushing in to get food and drink, not holding doors open or general courtesy. Average hotel but definitely for families. I would avoid if couples or looking for adults only. Reasonable value for money.

Rooms - spacious and clean. We had a great sea view. Daily service was fine. Empty mini fridge. No iron nor coffee facilities. Pool - great size and well maintained. Plenty of sun beds. Closes at 6 pm when sun still out and warm though! Food….. very disappointing. The worst I have had from a Rui. We ate out every night after the first night. Poor quality…… limited fruit, dry pastries, poor meat quality. Only just warm on hot buffet, and very limited choice. Drinks….. cheap, and non-branded - the type to give you a headache without drinking too much! Served in small flimsy plastic cups. Entitled to 1 x large bottle of water a day per room! All drinks services closed at 12. Pool service opened at 10. No where to grab a morning coffee before 10 unless sat in noisy dining area. Whilst most hotel staff are friendly, locals are not particularly. Be aware of taxi costs. We booked one through the hotel to Khans Tent and he increased the price from 120 lv to 150 lv!
