Great family stay this summer, despite the iffy weather on some of the days. Details on the important things below. Rooms - small but clean and comfortable. The bathrooms, however, really let the standard double rooms down - they are tiny. Food and drink - great selection, always fresh and tasty. Good kids’ section and themed nights. Was really impressed with the Taverna restaurant. Usually these things are disappointing at AI reports, but can’t complain at this one - top notch! Great selection of self serve soft drinks and also alcoholic drinks from the bar. Always available. Entertainment - the entertainment team, including the kids clubs, are excellent. Really enthusiastic, inclusive and fun. Lots going on throughout the day. The evening entertainment, however, is very repetitive (the kids evening entertainment especially) and not of a fantastic standard. Was great that they went above and beyond to accommodate the WC matches. Staff - work hard and are largely friendly. Special shout out to the entertainment staff - Dan, Emma, Sofia, Julie and Anna. One disappointing thing is the young male lifeguard who’s largely supervises the water slides - he is overly obnoxious, bordering aggressive and is often sitting there either with his eyes closed, or on his mobile phone - the only staff member who lets the team down. Cleanliness - the hotel is clean. It’s a bit basic in areas, but hygiene is not an issue. Something does, however, need to be done about the seagulls around the pool area. Whether that’s enforcing the no eating by the pool or getting in a bird of prey to help eradicate them as this really takes the relaxing edge off of the pool area. Location - 10-15 minute walk into Sunny Beach. However, the town is a dump. It makes Benidorm look like the Maldives. Perfect hotel for a young family looking for a relaxing break with lots to do! Would return.

“Gluten free catered for”

We arrived late, que for checkin was long amd only 1 room at a time could check in. ROOMS (3002&3003) were perfect. Cleaners not so, as floor was dirty so walked in flip flops. We arrived late, que for checkin was long amd only 1 room at a time could check in. ROOMS (3002&3003) were perfect. Cleaners not so, as floor was dirty so walked in flip flops. Also glasses and cups simply swilled and not washed/ replaced. Kettle in room great with tea, coffee, only one dried milk ... not replenished. Bottle of water in room and plenty of water machines to refill amd pop in fridge. POOLS. Lots to choose from, big water slides open in morning and afternoon .. Great fun. Great using inflatables, but, all pools 1.4m so not great for younger children. Childrens slides and toddler slides ... limited use as pressure too high so blasted with water on head ... disappointing given they're for children. SPA and GYM ... good, shame jacuzzi was broke. MAIN POOL SNACK BAR ... not enough servers for drinks so always que. Bar at relaxing pool always good, drinks no food. Snack bar ... food choices pizza, burger, chips, fruit, biscuits etc RESTAURANT ... spacious, but tables are NOT big enough for 4 people. Good food choices. Breakfast regular AI choices... always nice. My 2 daughters are coeliac, cant have gluten. Reception gave us a menu to choose from, fill in and give to restaurant every morning for lunch and dinner, identify time you will dine. Timings made NO difference, we waited between 15 - 45 minutes for gluten free food to be served. Sometimes it all came together, other times in dribs and drabs Made eating as a group difficult, also for daughter with SEND who struggles with waiting. 2 head waiters , 1 friendly the other not ... not even a smile, did not look like he wanted to be there, never mind help us!!! Gluten free toaster and bread, but cooked like crackers. We had gluten free pizza, pasta, pasta in tomato sauce, baked potato, sliced potato, rice and chicken nuggets ... all nice. Good range of desserts too, especially chocolate brownies. Restaurant was like clock work, bang in the minute service was finished they began clearing away. Given we'd waited so long for gluten free food at lunch time they simply cleared up around us and never felt pressure to rush and leave. My one daughter had ZERO gf tummy, my other had it ONCE on our last dinner CLEANLINESS... disappointing in places, spills left for days on staircases, bird poop left days on lounger, glasses not collected very frequently round pools, and glass boxes where you can put your own not collected either. ANIMATION.... evening mini disco and shows brilliant. Daytime kids entertainment disappointing, it's up.to you to check.the app. No one comes round telling you what's coming up or to invite you to play/ join in. BEACH ... bus to beach left at allocated time regardless that it was full to brim. Beach is nice. Walk back to hotel 20 minutes, last 10 up hill, no great for pushchair or wheelchair. Would I come back ... no. Would I recommend... yes

“Ok - DEFINATELY NOT WHEELCHAIR FRIENDLY”

We had an ok time. Our accommodation was called Kate near reception but to get to the pool and restaurants you have to go up a very very steep hill. We have a wheelchair user and it nearly killed us pushing up the hill and terrifying coming back down. Rooms were ok. Cleaned everyday if required. P… more

We had an ok time. Our accommodation was called Kate near reception but to get to the pool and restaurants you have to go up a very very steep hill. We have a wheelchair user and it nearly killed us pushing up the hill and terrifying coming back down. Rooms were ok. Cleaned everyday if required. Pool area good and the kids had a good time. The evening food we found very much the same every day so much so that we ended up eating out every night at Old Nessebar (definitely recommend). The daytime food was ok but again very much the same everyday. We did have a security problem one night where we had someone trying to get in to our room at 1:30am. Reception had re-programmed their key to our room without checking properly and we had to call security. Overall ok. Could do with some improvements on the food side. Definitely hire an electric wheelchair while you are there if you require one. The hill is a killer. Definitely go to Old Nessebar, very lovely and the restaurants are very good.
