We spent three nights @ Bunwin Residence and couldn't be happier! One of the few places we stayed on this trip where the experience matched what was advertised on the website. Warm reception, the property is gorgeous and well staffed and maintained, the rooms are large and comfortable, the food is very good and everybody is full of smiles, eager to take care of you and happy you came. Some people say the food is expensive. It averages $5 US per plate and is of good quality. I guess what they mean is you can eat for $2 or so in town, and we wished we would have once (was with my Dad who is in his late 70's and it was just easier to eat in Resort) but I was fine with $5. They employ many young people from the area and I was happy to support. We booked our tour of Angkor Wat through them and were completely satisfied - ask for a tour guide for sure (well worth the $35/day) and ask for Kobe (his nickname). The only criticism was communication with the front desk for transport - language barrier I believe. We had arranged to be met at the airport by their free tuk-tuk service. Our flight was 5 hours late (they knew our flight number in advance) and my Dad was on site to provide them updates. We had to wait 40 minutes after coming out to the sidewalk for our ride. We also had some miscommunications with the initial transport for our tour (booked a 4 person tour plus a guide - 5 people - by tuk tuk - they ordered one tuk-tuk which wasn't enough for 5 people - we switched to an air conditioned van whice was an excellent choice). All of this didn't dampen our experience. I mention it to say it may be a good idea to confirm what you arrange with the front desk by using Google translate, just to be 100% clear. He was apologetic and all was forgiven. He is a nice kid and works hard - just a miscommunication. We could not recommend Bunwin Residence any higher - stay here!

At first we were a little concerned that we were so far from the action, but the Bunwin Boutique Hotel was like an serene island paradise amidst all the noise. The service was excellent, the staff was friendly. The complimentary tuktuk took us to excitement of Pub Street and the Night Market and then took us back. After climbing Angkor Wat from a breathtaking sunrise to the mid afternoon heat, it was a pleasure to come back and enjoy a relaxing swim in the hotel pool and eat a delicious lunch poolside. Yes the bed was a little hard but then that was true in all the hotels we stayed at in Thailand and Cambodia. This hotel provided a relaxing end to a long and exhausting 2 weeks in Asia. We would recommend your hotel to all our friends and family.

Bunwin Residence is fantastic hotel in a wonderful location 3-4km out of lively Siem Reap. It is surrounded by palms and paddy fields with lush plantation within the complex, all centred around a restaurant/pavilion and stunning pool. If you want to experience the real Cambodian countryside, then this is the place!What really makes the hotel so special however is the staff. The hotel aims to train local Cambodians and puts funds into the village school. It also teaches the staff English and offer training in hospitality. The entire team could not have been more helpful, interested and totally determined to make our trip as memorable as possible. From Narie who served us breakfast every morning with a smile, Vanak who took time out on his day off to take us on several cycling trips around the local area and the front office manager Rekkie who helped plan our itinerary and assisted us in extending our stay from 3 to 8 days. The cookery course is also highly recommended. The restaurant offers delicious meals - the Amok was the best I had! Bunwin Residence should be commended on the highest standard of service they offer - we will always remember our stay here! Thank you all.
