The minute we walked through the gate into Montra Nivesha we felt a sense of peace and calm. For us this hotel felt unique. You are surrounded by plants, water and an extensive range of art and pottery. Every corner you turned, something new would catch your eye. It’s eco-friendly, exceptionally clean and the staff were wonderful. The food was also fabulous.

I was travelling with some family and we had booked multiple rooms. After a long series of flights, we were all a bit dazed when we arrived but check in was handled seamlessly and simply. The grounds are lovely with many plants and a central lap pool. The water features add to the ambiance and the theme. Breakfast was great in a generous space with many options to try. The staff as outstanding. We tried the spa (great) and the restaurant for dinner (a couple of times) and were not disappointed. The location works very well too. Overall, we found the hotel as very quiet with an attentive staff.

Largest room ever stayed in! (Deluxe garden room). Room overlooks pool. On a quiet street. Lovely pool with a swim up bar. Not many sun loungers though. Large restaurant and smaller bar area. Hotel has its own tuk tuk you can book. Wherever you go, just tell the driver what time to come back and he will be back for you. (Pay on return trip). Take care when walking on room floors as can be slippery if wearing socks. And no hot water during the afternoon. But apart from that, a lovely small hotel.

“Counter-intuitive and impractical in every regard”

Guest room was counter-intuitive in every aspect. I have never stayed in any room SO bad for a guest experience. Just impractical in every sense. NO normal light switches that can be SEEN and easily accessed - go figure Instead, a central control unit that cannot be seen IN THE DARK. This overlooks that a guest might want to turn a light on to visit the bathroom in the middle of the night. In fear of injuring ourselves, we slept with one of the bathroom lights on all night. Ridiculous placement of furniture i.e. chairs and table en-route to the bathroom and there is also a column directly in ones approach. I'd not be surprised if many a guest hasn't stubbed their toe colliding with this or walked head on into the column in search of the W/C in the night Bathroom with no privacy door meaning you take a shower exposed to the hotel guests at breakfast through your bedroom window! I kid you not. Really? Seriously? Water from the overhead shower went everywhere despite our best efforts to contain it within the shower, it was all over the basin sink area and bath area via the slats in the sliding door. Old fashioned dial-up phone like 1920s era (you cannot see the digits)! Who wants that? Silly individual curtains with velcro that hotel turndown service failed to close of an evening. Who wants to be bothered with all those on their return from an all day excursion? As a result, gaps a plenty! Awful added touches all gimmicky and useless such as elephant taps, elephant hooks and ugly ornaments, which I think were intended to be seen as boutique chique but sadly fall wide of the mark. No hairdryer in the room, so you risk being electrocuted using the wall mounted one right by the shower. External noise at night, which I know is not directly the fault of the hotel, but Cockerels that start up at 4am and god almighty cat fights that seemingly no staff made any attempt to intervene. NOTE TO MANAGEMENT. In summary the entire room and bathroom design needs to be remodelled on PRACTICALITY and usability. Forget trying to be stylish, you're falling short and drastically overlooking the basics - comfort and ease of use.
