Handy bar fridge, microwave, & Keurig. Our spacious room with loft (1 bed up, 2 down) had a lovely fireplace. NOT gas or electric, you can buy 2 Prestologs/Duralogs for $10 from the office and they give you a bbq lighter to use. There is a communal kitchen with lots of appliances and dishes/pots & pans that is great for groups or families to use. It certainly helped us save money on meals. Please remember to clean up your pans and don't leave them on the counter to 'soak' for the whole day. Staff very friendly and helpful. Reminder that they don't come in to clean or restock your room unless you schedule it, and you can always pick up extra supplies at the office in between. You are in a rain forest on west side of Vancouver Island so the room may smell a bit musty. We were there during a week-long atmospheric river though, so that would affect the mustiness. Worth returning, maybe in summer next time.

“Great value in an expensive area of the Island.”

Great price, good room, nice view with good trails nearby. We had a wonderful vacation. Love Ucluelet! Yes at times we did hear other guests but was not a problem.

Gorgeous setting and location. First impression on seeing the large Lodge of rooms that overlook the marina, looks well kept and serene. The walkway down to the lower level was very slippery in the evening & morning. There were grated slates to one side for shoes to grip onto. The room was sufficient with 2 comfy queen beds. The sink area outside the bathroom was a nice touch. I didn’t care for the sliding wooden door to the bathroom that scraped noisily in the night when used (some WD40 sprayed could possibly fix that). I requested a fireplace and it was a true fireplace but no wood to light a fire. I was expecting a modern (propane or electric) one however it fit the age of the place. It was surprising to hear all the sounds that go with the place. The barking at sunrise surely woke everyone up. There was a path in front of the building by the ground-level rooms where people were walking their dogs all morning. If you have pets it appears to be pet friendly. Next we heard the people above us talking, walking around like in an old house with floor creaking. We also heard the sea lion calls echoing in the morning. The self- laundry facility is a closet of a room on exterior of building with an old coin operated washer and dryer that has seen better years. The office up at the entrance has Loonies if you have no change. The dryer took my $4.00 so I made the longish trek up the slippery plank to get help. This room and machines definitely need some attention. There was ample parking. We saw a communal kitchen but venture to that area. We stayed the one night and it basically was just to sleep. I gave it a 4/5 for the appeal and comfy beds,

We stayed two nights here for the New Year travel. They provided us a loft room instead of a standard room. It was a bit challenging for our baby to climb stairs, but her sister loved to sleep in the King bed and we could relax a bit after our kids sleep. The location is safe and convenient and the room was clean. The common kitchen was nice to talk with other guests, we recommend this charming hotel for family travel.

If you’re looking for an affordable, no frills, pet friendly accommodation in the Tofino/Ucluelet area this is a great deal. All rooms have marina views and the communal kitchen may appeal to groups traveling on a budget. Top floor loft rooms are spacious and great for families who need extra beds (king plus 2 queens) Pros: friendly helpful staff, updated bathrooms, new towels, pet friendly, options for rooms with 3 beds, views. Cons: dated building, thin walls, no daily room cleaning, originally booked a ground floor room but it had a water issue (suspect ground water from recent rain storm flooding), staff moved us to a top floor loft and we were much happier with this accommodation. Far from Tofino (30min drive).
