Muir, a Luxury Collection Hotel, whispers understated elegance the moment you walk in. Our room mirrored the vibe: simple, refined, quietly indulgent. Snack drawers filled with sweet and savoury treats, a fully stocked bar, and staff who are attentive without ever hovering. Even the “town car” is a Range Rover ready to whisk you anywhere in the city. As we waited in the lobby for the town car to take us to lunch uptown, the daily "Boom at Noon" rolled in, mocktails crafted with smoked non-alcoholic gin, served just as the Royal Artillery fired from Citadel Hill. A toast to "discovery, to the sea, and to the moment. " The onsite Drift restaurant serves a delicious breakfast. The location on the waterfront, walking distance to the Marine Museum, the Art Gallery of Nova Scotia and many waterfront restaurants. Highly recommend and would love to stay again.

My husband and I spent 2 nights at the Muir and were very impressed with the hospitality, room and amenities. This is one of the best Marriott properties we’ve stayed in. The entire team was welcoming, charming and helpful. We were stunned when they delivered a handsome canvas tote bag filled with snacks since we had mentioned that we were on a road trip around the Maritime Provinces. I always leave a note each day thanking the housekeeper along with their tip to make sure that they know that the cash is for them, and our housekeeper wrote back the sweetest note to us. I have never seen this before and we travel extensively. We were also pleased that they were able to accommodate our early checkin request. Parking was convenient. The room was spotless, elegant and well equipped, featuring a beautiful bar, loads of storage, huge safe, a king size bed with quality linens, plenty of outlets in convenient places, fast WiFi, Smart TV, and a comfortable seating area. I had noted before arriving that we only drink decaffeinated coffee and found the bar stocked with all decaf capsules. The coffee was delicious, which is often not the case with decaf, if any is even available. It was very quiet despite the buzzy location and we slept soundly. We had lovely views of the harbor from the bed and bath rooms. The bathroom was spacious with a deep soaking tub, walk-in shower with good water pressure, double vanities, makeup mirror, full length mirror and even a Dyson hairdryer. Plush robes and slippers were provided. Lighting was excellent. If we had one quibble we would have preferred an opaque door on the separate toilet stall rather than clear glass. We put in laundry in the morning and were pleasantly surprised to find that it had been returned already when we popped in midday. They did a great job with it. We had breakfast both days at Drift and were satisfied with the choices. The location is ideal, we could walk everywhere, so we had dinner at other places. Our favorite, Mystic, is a few steps from the hotel. We felt that the value completely justified the cost and would definitely stay again if we return to Halifax.

I recently stayed at Muir, Autograph Collection and the service truly went above and beyond at every turn. The front desk team was exceptional—warm, attentive, and consistently helpful with all questions and arranging taxis without any hassle. Housekeeping was equally impressive, with perfectly timed service that never felt intrusive yet kept everything immaculate. A particularly thoughtful touch was that they even cleaned my glasses and left behind a microfiber cloth and cleaning spray. Every interaction reflected a genuine commitment to hospitality and making guests feel genuinely cared for.

The hotel and spa were excellent! A special shoutout to Yeju, Ron, and Bhavuk at the spa reception, who were absolutely fantastic. They were so kind, hospitable, and welcoming, and their wonderful energy made our engagement celebration feel even more special. The thoughtful delivery to our room was such a lovely touch and truly made us feel celebrated. The entire spa experience was amazing. We loved the salt room, steam room, pool, cold plunge, and sauna, and the staff made everything feel relaxing, warm, and memorable. We are so happy with our experience and will absolutely return!
