“The ROBINWOOD cottage is the best !!”

This July was our seventh visit and we rented the Robinwood cottage this time and must say… it is the best. The website pictures do not do it justice. The inside is bigger and nicer than they show on the website. And to make it even more fun and fancy, we decorated the dock in colorful flowers, pinwheels, and a deck rug… cuz that’s just the colorful fun loving couple we are. Thee best thing about the Robinwood is clearly the two tier deck, all the space you get for whatever you want, and especially the immediate access into the water… which is just above the knee high and sandy. Cannot be beat and really worth the extra coin you pay for this cottage IMO. Also, a small dock access walk way on the south end of the dock allows means you do not have to walk thru the cottage in your wet swim wear if you want to go and pick up your take out food order or grab more towels from the main beach. That is a huge bonus… and it’s just quicker in any event compared to trekking thru the cottage. We’ve done many of the cottages at Sherwood over the years and all wear great… but the Robinwood is now the go-to forever after this summer getaway. But ya better book early. I booked almost 6 months out. And here is a PRO TIP. Always check the cottage you’re renting and see if anyone was in it the day prior. If not… we show up early and ask if we can check in cuz we KNOW the cottage was likely cleaned yesterday or the day prior when the other guests left…. So it’s literally sitting empty and clean which was the case with the Robinwood when we arrived Monday July 14. Maybe it’s cuz the staff knows us… but my wife and I were sitting on the Robinwood dock putting on tanning oil at 10:30am …. As opposed to arriving at the token middle of the afternoon. Staff was happy to check us in… “Yeah nobody is in there and it’s clean. Go ahead. Enjoy.”

“Not great!”

Quite disappointing. We had cabin on the lake. We loved the little sun deck on the lake but the cabin itself is in need of updating. Tired wooden panelling and wallpaper. We had a fridge and coffee maker but no kettle and not even any cups or mugs - just paper cups! Not even a teaspoon. The pillo… more

Quite disappointing. We had cabin on the lake. We loved the little sun deck on the lake but the cabin itself is in need of updating. Tired wooden panelling and wallpaper. We had a fridge and coffee maker but no kettle and not even any cups or mugs - just paper cups! Not even a teaspoon. The pillows were either very hard or very lumpy. The TV did not work. The dinner was nice but not 'fine dining' as described and cost a fortune! We were also upset to find cigarette lighter had been left on our balcony - either whilst we were at dinner or during the night. It definitely wasn't there when we checked in. This unnerved us as it is clearly a fire hazard in the woods next to a wooden cabin but also that someone had been on or near our balcony without our knowing. We reported all issues to reception who were completely uninterested. I was told a manager would contact me but I haven't heard a thing! Staff on reception seemed very inexperienced. The positives were the waiting staff were very good and the location by the lake is very beautiful!
