My husband and I visited La Roche Saturday night, July 10, 2021. Due to co-vid we had not been there for a long time. What a great surprise. The new owners have taken away the bland, modern decor that had been installed by the previous Asian owners.The place has been returned, in large measure, to its former self with the return of antique serving platters affixed to the walls of the dinning room, the positioning of authentic antiques of many sorts, representative of the island's maritime and agricultural history in the bar and ballroom and in the main lobby, as well as the return of sofas and chairs in the lobby covered with authentic, hand-woven materials created on the island. Long-time resident musician and singer, Michel Morrin was back as well and there was a lively crowd in the bar singing along with him. No dancing as yet, but hopefully soon. Lastly, there were a good number of diners enjoying food from the re-opened kitchen. We'll definitely be back.

“Very nice !”

We were there for two nights , room on the second floor of the motel with a great view . Big room with a fridge . Sink outside the bathroom which is convenient . Would have been nice to have chairs ont he balcony. (Perhaps it was too early in the Season ) very nice lawn with places to sit and relax… more

We were there for two nights , room on the second floor of the motel with a great view . Big room with a fridge . Sink outside the bathroom which is convenient . Would have been nice to have chairs ont he balcony. (Perhaps it was too early in the Season ) very nice lawn with places to sit and relax enjoying the view . Staff is friendly everywhere from front desk to dining room. We only had breakfast there it was ok . The whole place is pleasant but the inside could use a bit of a refresh . Keeping the rustic style but a bit more modern would make it perfect . It was our base for a 23 km walk around the island and we enjoyed it.
