... And that's why I registered with Tripadvisor now... Located on the 21st floor of the B-building inside the complex, over the course of a couple of days I met about seven of the people that work for this company. They rent apartments in this four-building apartment complex and they do a great job! They are all helpful and attentive. Right down to the people that clean the apartment. They give you breakfast on a tray and it conveniently gets placed in the fridge when you're out during the evening so you can eat at whatever time you want in the morning. They take care in equipping the kitchen with basics like a kettle, toaster, pots, pans, cutlery, etc so you can be pretty self supportive. And the massiver Lider supermarket is right next to the main entrance. And that even has a small section or organic veggies. When I broke a glass (sorry guys!) they immediately sent someone over to clean it up and when I needed my boarding pass printed, they were happy to oblige. I think the only thing preventing me from rating this five star is that the apartment is not super-luxurious. But for the price it's still highly recommendable. It's clean and everything works.

First the good things: the apartments were very nice, I stayed in two of them. In the second night of my 4 night stay the power went out and I was forced to switch apartments. The first one was good the second was a loft and it was terrific and the bed was much more comfortable. The customer service was excellent as well. The lady I worked with was very attentive to my needs. When my power went out she was right there to resolve the situation and apologized for the inconvenience. The building itself was nice and was well situated to enjoy the city on foot. For the building, the apartments, customer service, I give them a 4. The bad: I booked the place on Hotwire thinking I was getting a hotel which is what I wanted in a new city where I wasn’t familiar with the language. This definitely was not that. These are apartments rented out within a larger apartment complex not named Altamira. Their offices are actually on the ninth floor of building B. The guy working at the door did not know this. The ladies working at the other entrance didn’t seem familiar with this either . For someone who had flown all night and limited in Spanish this was very confusing. I tried to contact them prior to my stay to see if I could get an early check in and as much as I looked there really is not an email or phone number attached to Altamira as there would be for a regular hotel. I ended up buying another night to ensure I could check in in the morning. Perhaps this would not have been necessary. Overall, if you understand what this is on the front side I highly recommend. Like I said, very nice apartments for the price. If you don’t I would say pass.

We booked the apartment on the same day, after we had to stay one more day in Santiago. Most hotels were full on that day, and we were attract by high reviews and a very low price. We were disappointed. The bathroom was old and dirty. The rooms were very small and the bed and pillow uncomfortable. There was no telephone. Overall, we would not returned. The only good thing is a very low price and good free internet.
