We stay at MDS Chillan and Concepcion when we drive to Santiago - Chillan on this trip. Clean, comfortable, spacious rooms and excellent staff. Good breakfast and decent restaurant onsite if you don't want to leave the hotel. The other restaurants at the hotel/casino aren't very good. Better to go offsite if you don't want to eat in the hotel restaurant.

“Exceeded Expectations”

Easy parking, fast check-in and out, room was immaculately clean and quiet. Slept great and had a big complimentary breakfast before starting a very busy day. Was the perfect stop off point on my trip to Concepcion from Santiago.

Arrived early for a potential early check-in but was told no. The only hotel lobby that they have was absolutely freezing! I asked for hot drinks facilities but was told that there were no facilities until the restaurant opened, which was at 13:30, bearing in mind that we’d just driven 5 hours to get to the hotel and arrived at 12:45. Some of the staff members were somewhat abrupt and not welcoming at all. We felt uncomfortable but were so tired from our trip that all we wanted was a hot drink and a meal. I approached the staff and told them if the could please increase the lobby temperature but was told no, I was told that it was because of the constant use of the main doors, which was a poor excuse. At 13:30 we entered the restaurant, bearing in mind that it was empty, and waited to be seated but nobody came! I had to wave at someone whom I thought was a waitress to get her attention! We sat down and scanned the menu and waited, and waited for at least 25 minutes before I had to get someone’s attention to serve us! Check-in was at 15:00 to which by then, there were lots of people that were waiting to check- in or out. This process took forever to complete, not straight forward, our passports were scanned as we were not Nationals, and further info was requested. I’d already booked the hotel via Bookings.com to make this process easier but no, it was not. Our room was average, not enough towels for 2 adults and x1 child and the sofa bed was not made up. Had to call reception to get this sorted. The sofa bed was stained and soiled on the armrest, I gave it a clean before the bed was made up. There was a coffee making machine which had x2 coffee pods that could be used! I asked for more only to be told that they would charge me if I wanted more. Please note that this hotel is advertising itself as a 5* hotel. We were over changed too! And still waiting for a refund. This is not a 5* hotel. Lots more to say but it would be a waste of time. Don’t think we will be returning unless things change dramatically.
