This is a national park hotel. The rooms and buildings are nice but a bit basic. The setting is magnificent, with a great view of the lake and the mountains beyond from the restaurant and the guest rooms. Service in the restaurants is very good though the food is also a bit basic. Also a great place to see wildlife. One of our party saw a puma right in front of their room during the day!

My husband surprised me with a stay at this hotel during our summer trip together. I had requested a room with a lake view, and they gave us room 815, an end unit, which was fantastic. The view was beautiful and the room felt very private. At check-in I mentioned that it was our anniversary, and the next day we returned to find a bottle of champagne and some delicious chocolates waiting for us with a “Happy Anniversary” message. That was such a thoughtful and special touch. The location is great and we truly enjoyed our time there. My favorite part was the breakfast buffet -literally any food you could think of and the quality was excellent. I especially loved that they even had cooked vegetables available at breakfast. For the price of the hotel, however, I would have expected a few additional amenities in the room such as a kettle for hot water, a microwave, and a mini fridge for leftovers. Dinner at the hotel is fairly expensive, and I would have liked the option to save some for later as it was too much for me at one sitting. In the end, we both agreed that two nights would have been perfect for us rather than three. The hiking nearby is wonderful and the staff were very friendly, but for the price we expected a little more in-room convenience. I prefer Puerto Natales and next time would have just booked an all day trek in the park. The town is great, the places are super nice and there are many more food options. That being said, staying in the park was a once in a lifetime opportunity and I'm happy we did. TIps? If you prefer bottled water, bring bottled water or pick some up ahead of time. It costs about $6 USD for a 20 oz bottle at the small nearby store. That said, the tap water is perfectly safe to drink (from what they said) and actually tastes better than bottled, we just didn’t realize that at first!

This hotel is in a beautiful setting with views of the mountains from the bar and the dining room. The accommodations are joined together in several “blocks” of about ten each. I was on my own and found mine a bit small, mostly because there were very few surfaces to put things. I searched in vain for the thermostat and found that the heat is controlled by a knob in the radiator, which worked well. Although there was nothing within walking distance because it’s a resort setting, there’s a walking path that leads to the edge of the lake with a lot of interesting areas on the way. A couple of playful foxes showed up occasionally to entertain everyone. There is no gym or pool. Breakfasts and dinners were good although we had the same menu selections both nights we were there. I realize that tour companies like to use a simplified menu with a known price, but we had the same 3 appetizer and main dish choices both nights. They could add some more choices.

“A fine option in a pinch”

Stayed here when we cancelled our plans to do the W-trek due to weather. To be fair, we booked last minute due to our change in plans so we were happy to take what was available. We arrived on a pouring rain evening. Our driver called the front desk from a phone located at the parking lot and Joan came out with a cart to take our luggage, navigating what I called the mini Lago Grey (a huge puddle that spread across the entire sidewalk entrance from the parking lot to the hotel grounds). Valentina at the desk was funny and kind. Our room, however was pretty basic. Good news was that the pillow and beds were good, but the bathroom was quite small with no storage space. Our friends stayed in a different branch of the hotel and their room was nicer so ask for rooms in the 900s. Our was in the 100s and from what I could see, the rooms in our branch were similar to ours. Breakfast was included and unlike the front desk, the staff was pretty consistently grumpy. We had a little better experience with the dinner staff. The food is fine, not great, not terrible. The hotel has the reservation desk for the boat that goes to Refugio Grey (hence access to the glacier and the beginning of the W Trek) so there is a lot of foot traffic through the hotel grounds, especially early as the first boat leaves at 7am. The hotel is not bad in a pinch but compared to the other 2 hotels in the national park, this one does not compare.
