Shangri-La Hefei offers one of the best Executive Lounges among the Shangri-La chain of hotels. The lounge is spacious and provides a perfect vantage point to enjoy the evening view of Hefei. It offers a wide array of dishes that showcase Anhui delicacies, delighting the guests. The morning breakfast buffet features a diverse selection of dishes, ranging from local to international delicacies. The famous “Sha-soup” is exceptional, and the local snacks complement the main courses offered at the buffet. We thoroughly enjoyed the evening cocktail hours from 5:30-7:30 pm when the lounge serves a variety of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, cheese platters, cakes, Japanese Sushi, and a wide variety of hot dishes. They even serve luxurious and nutritious herbal soup. You don't need to leave the hotel to savor the full range of Anhui local delights. Conveniently, we were able to sample most of the Anhui dishes at this hotel. I'd like to express my sincere gratitude to Shu Shu for making my stay an unforgettable experience. She did an excellent job in arranging a comfortable room with great amenities to welcome us to Hefei. In her role as Assistant Director of Room, she is highly professional and ensures that everything requested before our stay is already arranged and placed in the room. She even recommended other Shangri-La hotels throughout China, especially in Wenzhou. She took the time to introduce us to the cultural perspectives and values of Hefei and Wenzhou, leaving us eager to visit Wenzhou on our next trip. Thanks to Ms. Helen for her courtesy in assisting us during the check-in process. She was very attentive to all our check-in requests. The Lounge Executive, Ms. Liana Wang, displays a genuine passion for her work and is always willing to accommodate our requests, especially when we ask for accompanying sauces or condiments. We truly appreciate her responsiveness to our needs, making us feel at home. Ms. Cynthia Xu, the Lounge Executive, extends a warm and friendly gesture, showing great enthusiasm in serving her guests in the lounge.

“Big room and comfortable stay.”

Good hotel. Suits with Shangri-La brand. Big room, comfortable bed and all the required amenities in bathroom. Front desk can communicate in English . Breakfast have limited options for vegetarians (milk, juice, cereals, fruits and breads).sufficient to fill stomach.

While I agreed the hotel kept most of Shangri La’s standards, it is old and the room gave a moldy smell maybe due to the carpets. My first impression while reaching the hotel is that it is located in middle of no where just off the main road. The attendant at the hotel just stood outside the car without offering to open the car door. At check in, the staff gladly tried to upsell the room to higher grades which I declined though the rates are attractive . The room as I said upon entering gave a funny smell which dispersed after the room is cool down, since you need a room card to turn on the electricity . The room is very spacious even for entry level and the room provides a city view outside which is just buildings and buildings . The breakfast is not as great as described in some of the reviews with the pastries and breads on offer cold and hard. It is also unusual to see that only chopstick and spoon is provided when the spread included western fare. You need to ask for fork and knife from the staff. The only highlight is perhaps the rather well maintain temperature pool which is large enough for 5-6 swimmers at each time . Having stayed in other Shangri La, I would expected the service to be slightly better while not that the service was no good but maybe I had higher expectations. To me was the many times at the front door that the staff stood waiting at the car door not doing anything which to me is an unusual sight.

“Good option when in Hefei”

Grand lobby, great location and attentive service. Room felt little used. Breakfast was only thing we thought was little letdown. Pastry station had more plastic decorations than actual food. When tried one of the real pastries it was hard, old and 100% not fresh. Other than that, we liked it.
