“Nice room, reasonably close to everything”

Nice room, comfy bed. Staff were helpful even with some language barriers. Breakfast buffet was very good. Close to restaurants and transport and the attractions. Only issue was it was hard to cool the room as they had changed to winter.

Great lobby and great cafe area for breakfast. Breakfast serving was adequate and needs to be paid separately from room unless you have privileged under ASR membership. Reception team is always trying their best to help, however, their English language is limited. Mandarin and Russian languages are okay. To get a taxi, please ask for their help...they can arrange excellent MPV via a local apps (not Didi - Sol Qi). It is misleading to assume the 2 beds room apartment unit is meant for 4 adults, as is, the bed configuration is only for 3 adults. Extra bed needs to be paid, even then, the extra bed can only be fitted in the hall area which is already squeezy. Another consideration, this 2 bed rooms unit only has one shower/toilet. So, It is better to get 2 rooms for overall convenient and space. Team at the reception knows the issue and I was told it has been highlighted to higher management many times, however, no action was taken. Ask for studio room (slightly more expensive i think) - feel more modern/new and not a typical hotel room type which i feel dated although they say they have been renovated a year ago.Finishing of whichever rooms are okay but not great (quality). Another surprise (not mention at their website): Was told at check in, it is a government policy, no air conditioner can be activated before 15/11? So, if the weather is too cold, you will have to endure and vice versa....strange. Located just next to a F&B area but serves mainly bar and bar food type. Walk to Park View Green Mall (10 to 15 mins) for more food choices and shopping. Close to world trade centre by taxi. I would like to thank Leo for trying his best to accomodate us.

Ritan Hotel has been there for many years, refurnished not long ago. My recent one-night stay was OK. To be fair, there are quite a few pros--the hotel location is rather central, neighbourhood is the embassy area and Ritan Park. Walking distance to The Parkview green shopping mall where has Western style supermarket and dining places. Not far away from the Youtang Life Plaza either where has a few Chinese restaurants. The room I had was spacious and comfortable. Front desk was very friendly. Breakfast had quite good selections of Western and Chinese food. Cons—because the hotel intersection has no left turn, taxi drivers refuse to drive in, walking with luggage at 38 degrees hasn’t been a very pleasant experience even it’s not very far. The hotel has two entrances, not much service at either entrance. The lobby was big and very golden and glittery. Check in and check out were slow. Majority of guests are from Russia or ex-Soviet Union countries because Ritan Hotel is very close to a couple of wholesale markets. Lots of Chinese guests are taking children to visit Beijing Capital Paediatric Research Centre at the end of street. Chinese and Russian are the two dominating languages in this hotel; not easy to get English instruction nor find help in English. Even the room is relatively new, towels were old with unpleasant smell. The hotel is very big, it’s very dark apart from the lobby. Breakfast place only has large round tables. People forced to share with strangers. The atmosphere was quite strange.
