“Nice hotel, but far away from the center”

The hotel itself is very nice. Nice and modern rooms, with all the needed facilities. The lobby is large and so is the dining room. The problem is that the hotel situated relatively far away from most of Beijing's attractions, and not close to a subway station. So I guess the hotel will feet mainly for conferences etc., and less for tourists.

“Looks quite Grand ”

We spent two nights in this Hotel. Our room was quite large,with king single beds. The bed was very firm, this suited me , but not my husband. There was a problem with the bathroom, where water flowed out from the shower, under the door and onto the carpet . The carpet was already wet when we arrived , hence an awful odour. The problem was not fixed while we were there. Our daughters room had a very strong cigarette smell, coming from somewhere. The hotel foyer and dining room was quite grand. The breakfast had plenty of choice and was quite enjoyable. The staff had no English.

The location of the hotel is not exactly near central and definitely not near any metro stations. We actually walked a good 30mins to the metro station (Ji Jia Miao). It also doesn't help that this place is not near any shopping malls and you have to take a bus outside the hotel for a couple of stops (1-3 stops) before you get to any place decent to get some food to eat. The in house buffet restaurant (Four Season Restaurant) could be better. There isn't much food variety. I stayed there for 4 nights and ate the same thing for breakfast and lunch for those 4 days (I was on conference). It also doesn't help much that the food is way too salty for my taste buds and on a few occasions, we had to speak to the chef who lowered the salt input a lil' bit - that made lunch more bearable. On the rooms, I must admit - the only thing I like about the rooms is the space. I could easily opened up 2 of my big luggage and still have room to walk about and I appreciate that space. The bathroom was also spacious and I particularly like the space near the sink where I could lay out all my toiletries and cosmetics. :) The bed may be a tad too hard if you are not used to it, and they use super single. On the staff, I know some of them already tried their best, but most speaks limited English. This isn't a problem for me, since I speak more Chinese than I read. The only thing that irritates me the most is that when you are not done with asking for directions some other Chinese local guests will interrupt and demand to be checked in immediately. The staff (God knows why) was intimidated and actually served them first! There were 3 different occasions where I had to tell those Chinese local guests to wait for their turn and they were embarrassed. You just have to put your foot down or you will never be done with your queries. Also, please take whatever maps you can from the airport - this hotel has limited maps in English FYI. Overall, I think this is an average hotel - could be better considering this is a 4* class of hotel.
