“Great place to stay in Quanzhou”

Large, clean, well appointed rooms. Firm beds, but good mattress toppers. Pool and fitness area uncrowded and very pleasant. Breakfast buffet exceptional in quality and variety. Convenience store and medium sized supermarket close by. Highly recommended.

Beautiful hotel. Definitely the best hotel in the town. Food is delicious and tasty. I love the seafood soup with sea-cucumber and abalone. Staff are friendly and professional. Only negative thing is that the beds are little too hard.

📍 Location: (3.5/5) The hotel sits in a somewhat awkward spot on the south bank of the Jin Jiang River, positioned between the old city center and Jinjiang. Public transportation is virtually nonexistent – you'll be relying entirely on ride-hailing apps to go anywhere. On the plus side, the immediate area has decent dining and entertainment options within walking distance, and being close to the river means pleasant evening walks along the waterfront are possible. For business travelers with meetings in the Jinjiang industrial areas, the location works; for tourists wanting easy access to Quanzhou's UNESCO sites in the old city, expect 20-30 minute rides each way. 🏛️ Hotel Design & Public Areas: (4/5) The property embraces a straightforward business style aesthetic – clean lines, functional spaces, no-nonsense design. It's not trying to be a boutique luxury property, and that's fine. High-floor rooms facing the river offer genuinely nice views of the Jin River and cityscape. Important tip: request a river-view room and specifically avoid units facing the adjacent apartment complex – the outlook is significantly less appealing and you might have privacy concern for opening the curtains. 🛏️ The Room: (3.5/5) The Good: * Executive rooms are impressively spacious with generous square footage * Bathroom features proper wet/dry separation and includes a bathtub * Amenities quality is solid * Bedding is predictably comfortable The Bad: * The air conditioning appears to be centrally controlled by season. We stayed during an unseasonably warm stretch, but because it was technically winter, the system wouldn't cool the room down. Temperature couldn't be adjusted lower, and windows don't open. The room became stuffy and uncomfortably warm – a significant comfort issue. 🍽️ Dining & Lounge: (4/5) Breakfast: (4.5/5) – A genuine highlight. The spread features plenty of local Quanzhou specialties – expect regional Fujianese dishes, fresh noodles, and local pastries alongside international staples. Worth waking up for. Executive Lounge: (4/5) – The lounge itself is well-designed with quality furnishings and a pleasant atmosphere. Food offerings during happy hour are average. The real winner here is the riverside view – it's an enjoyable spot to unwind with an evening drink as the sun sets over the river. 💁 Service: (3/5) Service quality was decidedly mixed: Room service delay: Called for bottled water; it took an excessively long time to arrive. Simple requests shouldn't require follow-up calls. Housekeeping miss: Upon check-in, we discovered what appeared to be a set of false eyelashes left behind by a previous guest. Not a huge issue in itself, but it signals rushed or inattentive cleaning between stays. Staff interactions otherwise were professional – functional rather than memorable. ⚖️ Overall: 4/5 The Hilton Quanzhou Riverside delivers solid comfort, spacious rooms, and good dining at a reasonable price point. The river-view rooms and lounge are genuine assets, and breakfast is a definite highlight. However, the location requires accepting transport dependence, the aircon's seasonal lock-in can cause real discomfort during weather transitions, and service inconsistencies keep it from reaching the next level. Would I stay again? Maybe. Despite some issues we encounter, for the price-to-space ratio and that river-view lounge, it's still a reasonable choice. 💡 Tips for Future Guests: Room Selection is Critical: Insist on a high-floor river-view room. Avoid apartment-facing units entirely. Aircon: If visiting during spring/autumn when temperatures fluctuate, ask about the current AC mode at check-in. If it's locked to heating and you're heat-sensitive, consider whether this property will work for you. Transportation: Budget for ride-hailing everywhere. If you have business in Jinjiang or don't mind ride-hailing everywhere. For pure tourism focused on Quanzhou's old city, you might prefer staying north of the river.

A special shout out to our cleaner on our floor. She was extremely helpful even took additional steps to help us out when we had too many things to carry.. The Good: 1. Attentive to our request 2. Cleaner was extremely helpful. 3. Nice view and great location (we wanted a less touristy area). They even loan us a wheelchair for my dad. Need improvement 1. Some time the breakfast buffet was a little too crowded 2. Hotel Need to check their email and at least reply. ( send 3 inquiry before arrival, with no response) But overall once you arrive there is no complaint... still a Hotel I would recommend.
