A hotel located in the center of Yangshuo. Directly across the street is Yangshuo Park, where you can take a walk or exercise in the morning and evening. About 400 meters from the hotel is West Street (Xi Jie), a famous pedestrian street known as the “Foreigner’s Street.” It’s a lively area filled with shops, restaurants, cafés, and bars. The hotel breakfast is not very diverse. The building is an older hotel that has been renovated. There is only one elevator, so during breakfast time and check-out hours, the wait for the elevator can be quite long. On the rooftop, there is a swimming pool and a glass sky mirror that reflects the sky and surrounding mountains—perfect for taking beautiful photos.

Be aware that there are two hotels on New West Street with almost identical names. We thought we were staying at the Rezen Hotel, but the sign outside said New West Street Grand Rezen Hotel. Another hotel in New West Street was called New West Street International Grand Rezen Hotel, so if you’re doing some prep for a stay, make sure you have the correct hotel. There was even confusing use of two names for getting Wi-Fi and on literature in the rooms - Rezen Hotel and New West Street. The hotel has a large, airy entrance, with plenty of seating and cold drinks and mints to welcome guests, but it goes a little bit downhill from there. I don’t know what we paid for our one night stay, as it was booked as part of a 16 day tour by the tour operator. It looked like most of the guests had been booked that way too, with a lot of Chinese and European tour groups. The hotel looks dated and worn in most areas. WiFi is not good. Very slow if at all. Fingerprint safe. Air con difficult to switch off, tv, fridge, kettle, tea, coffee, two bottles of water provided, no bath robes, slippers. A large, comfortable bed, with many group members saying they had the best nights sleep of our tour so far. Separate western and Asian restaurants for breakfast, which had lots of options in the western restaurant. Omelettes, fried eggs, toast, yoghurt, fruit, cereals, beans, bacon, sausages, pastries.
