We had an absolutely wonderful time at this hotel. My husband and I visited with our small children (almost 3 years old and 9 months). There is a nice playroom where the kids could spend time when we didn't have other plans. The staff was so friendly, and especially nice to the kids. The food at the restaurant was absolutely amazing. It was pur favorite compared to other restaurants we tried nearby and in other parts of the city. The rooms were also very nice and ours had a great view. Definitely recommend staying here!

“Excellent experience”

I booked an apartment a couple of times,one in may 24,one in june 25. I had a wonderful esperience, like to be at home in a country very far from home. Breakfast is one of the best I have ever had in hotels around the world. The direction has neen very kind and helpful when I had some request.

I’ve stayed at the Oakwood Hotel & Residence in Suzhou before and have again this month. It’s a great hotel for international travelers who will be staying more than a week or two in Suzhou. The rooms are spacious and include personal kitchens, washer/dryer combo machines, access to a variety of local and international TV channels from around the world, etc. The restaurant offers a selection of Asian and western dishes for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The breakfast buffet in particular has just about everything you could want. I often end up skipping lunch because I’m still full from the breakfast. The hotel staff is also great, making sure that even little things are taken care of for you. For example, for breakfast I typically choose the western food options in the buffet. The staff makes sure that my table has western utensils (in addition to the usual chop sticks) without asking for them. They also know that I typically like to have a large glass of orange juice in the morning and they’ll have it ready for me when I’m seated at the table. During various local and international holidays the staff will also decorate the hotel, making sure travelers can still enjoy the holiday even if they’re away from home. During Christmas they had a variety of lights, Christmas trees, and other decorations. They even offered a special Christmas dinner to guests. The hotel is close to several other restaurants so that if you ever want to try something else, you can just walk down the street for more options. It’s also within walking distance to a Suzhou subway stop, giving you easy access to the rest of Suzhou. Probably the only area that could be improved would be the Internet connectivity. Sometimes the Internet speed slows down or becomes unreliable at night. Not sure why, but maybe it depends on how many guests are in their rooms at night trying to use it at the same time. But by the next morning it’s back to normal. I’m very happy to stay in this hotel and would recommend it I’m to it others who will be traveling to Suzhou for extended stays.
