This hotel is a 12-story high-rise in a city with only a few true high-rises. I paid $65/night on business. It takes a couple hours to get here from the Pudong airport, & the cab fare with tolls was about $50. The cabby from Shanghai had to ask some locals for directions. The location is just east of the commercial area, where you can find shops of various sorts, restaurants, &c. An earlier reviewer noted the front desk had a shortage of local currency, but I was able summarily draw 1500 RMB from a nearby ATM. An extensive park along the canal (which, unlike Shanghai's, still carries commercial freight) was nicely suited for my 4am I-have-jet-lag morning run. The smoke is from burnt prayer offerings. The interior of the hotel is showing some signs of wear, but nothing was out of working order. The weight room had a fairly complete complement of equipment. A massage parlor on the premises has a wide range of prices and, um, services. I recommend the restaurant. I was served a surprisingly fine dinner, as a hotel meal, second only to one I had in Lincoln NE; there must be something to hotel chefs in the smaller cities. The breakfast buffet, better than most, was included in the room price. High speed internet was included, an RFC1922 192.168.0.0/24 style address, with somewhat slow 100 ms ping times to the US. Fine for basic web browsing, but more demanding protocols--VNC in my case--are sluggish. The building has no WiFi, but my 12th floor window overlooked a tract of condos from which I could sniff out a couple open networks.

“A great place to stay”

The hotel rooms were great and very modern and clean. The breakfast buffet was included in the price and had many choices and was very good. There are 3 restaurants to choose from in the Hotel. There is a Chinese, Western and Japenese Restaurant. All had very good food. They have a nice heal… more

The hotel rooms were great and very modern and clean. The breakfast buffet was included in the price and had many choices and was very good. There are 3 restaurants to choose from in the Hotel. There is a Chinese, Western and Japenese Restaurant. All had very good food. They have a nice health club in the hotel as well. The staff was very friendly and there was never a wait for any request. High Speed Internet was included with the room and seemed to move at a very good rate. The hotel is located in Kunshan which is halfway between Shanghai and Suzhou but not very easy to get to off of the highway.

“Pleasant Surprise”

Wasn't expecting much given that the road in front of the property was being repaired but this hotel was a plesant surprise for me. This has got to be the best hotel in Kunshan. The rooms were well appointed and large (and so were the bathrooms). Toilets flushed silently and probably saved water… more

Wasn't expecting much given that the road in front of the property was being repaired but this hotel was a plesant surprise for me. This has got to be the best hotel in Kunshan. The rooms were well appointed and large (and so were the bathrooms). Toilets flushed silently and probably saved water too! Coffeeshop was spacious enough to accomodate every guest they had and the food was excellent. Staff professional and very friendly. Only drawback during my 3 night stay was the front desk never had enough chinese reminbi for guest to change their dollars with.
