We arrived and were greeted the staff is so nice and the hotel is gorgeous. I am obsessed with the view because you could see everything and the hotel room was so clean and luxurious. It has a big bathtub and a gigantic shower also the food tasted amazing and the hotel is connected with the mall. I especially loved the vibes the hotel was giving.

“Awesome Vista over Shenyang!”

I thoroughly enjoyed my second stay at the Conrad Shenyang, despite a few very minor frictions along the way. The facilities and vista were stunning as usual. This trip was to celebrate my mum's birthday, the experience was made even more special with an aerial view of the neighborhood where I spent my childhood before migrating and a delicious cake thoughtfully prepared by the Conrad Shenyang team during turn down — thank you for this lovely gesture! Special thanks to Jacky for promptly organising a full-day limousine, also to Mu from the Concierge for warmly welcoming us back in the evening and personally delivering our bag to the room without prompting. The executive lounge was peaceful as usual. A special thanks to Luna for remembering my drink choice and to Choris for ensuring a seamless and efficient checkout experience. Breakfast was enjoyable too. I was pleasantly surprised to see more Shenyang local specialties on the spread compared to my last visit (if memory serves me right). A big thank you to Lisa and the Archive restaurant team for their attentiveness, even during a busy weekend service. The same warm hospitality was also extended by Zhang Dan and Yu Cui from housekeeping. Thank you for the kind small talks, assistance, and for taking photos for us. That said, there was a minor hiccup during check-in when I requested to be put on "no-post" (though probably not the exact term used in Hilton’s property management system). A team member insisted on holding a deposit despite my explanation that I only had debit cards with me (and the refund process would be lengthy as compared to a pre-authorisation held on Credit Cards). Though she eventually relented. For comparison, I've had seamless experiences at multiple Rosewood properties, where such requests are handled without question. A better alternative could be to inform guests that they will not be able to post any charges to the room, any incidental purchases would need to be paid on the spot, while still saving debit card details on file for any unforeseen incidental expenses. Not sure about cards issued in mainland China but this approach would work for international cards, which can typically be charged without the physical card present. Nevertheless, I deeply appreciated the early check-in and late check-out graciously extended by the Front Office team, especially given the high occupancy over the weekend based on my observations. All other interaction with the Front Office team was pleasant and professional. Thank you Conrad Shenyang team for making our stay memorable!!

“Strong cigarette smell”

The hotel is only 6 years old, however the facilities appeared to be much more worn out than anticipated. The room (two queen bed suite) was very spacious and well appointed. The hotel is only 6 years old, however the facilities appeared to be much more worn out than anticipated. The room (two queen bed suite) was very spacious and well appointed. The buffet breakfast was excellent and the staff were professional and addressed us by our names. The location was superb with easy access to all attractions. The issue we had was despite being in a non-smoking room on a non-smoking floor. The hotel stunk of cigarette smell throughout. We couldn’t escape from it the moment we stepped foot into the hotel and our room. The hotel provided us with an air purifier machine which helped reduce the smell by about 10%. Not sure what can be done to remove the smell but we will not be returning based on this.

This review is for the management at the Conrad to take note of. I've been at the Conrad numerous times when I've stayed in Shenyang. I consider it to be the premier hotel in Shenyang. However, I happened to be staying at another hotel on this trip, but wanted to go up to the 88th floor, have a drink and take in the night city view with a friend. When we went into the lounge area it was completely empty except for the nightly entertainment belting out some oldies but goodies. We took a window seat and immediately were accosted by one of the servers stating that it was a 500rmb minimum to sit there. This isn't about the money, my bar tab certainly exceeded the minimum, its about reading your customers. The poor server was doing her job, it was just a little awkward for everyone. I know you want to maximize every customer's experience, so I suggest you give your servers the ability to use discretion on enforcing this policy. I'm sure they can tell the difference between paying and non-paying customers...and besides, if the lounge is empty, does it matter?
