This is a newer establishment, striving to be like a Vegas hotel but still with some 'Chinese characteristics', resorting in sort of a Branson, Missouri hotel. Full service, and the services are pretty good. There are problems with fit-and-finish, like plumbing fixtures in bathroom needing to be better secured. Tacky touches like the locked refrigerator in the room. Overall, the spacious room was very clean, and very comfortable. Breakfast was pretty good. The hotel was also a pretty good bargain. There is a supermarket across from the hotel, for those preferring to bring in their own supplies rather than relying on room service for everything. Most of the city is across the 'river' from this hotel, but taxis are cheap and reliable. I would stay at this hotel again. Be sure to inquire at check in if your particular credit card is accepted.

“Great Hotel for Road Trip”

Agree with TravelTNewYork. Big room, comfortable beds, clean carpets. Nice staff - Victoria at Reception speaks English and is very helpful. Agree with TravelTNewYork. Big room, comfortable beds, clean carpets. Nice staff - Victoria at Reception speaks English and is very helpful. Egg station at breakfast, but instant coffee powder and no juices. (We had two breakfasts with our room). Good for driving trip, easy to find, big parking lot out front, and easy drive to fun restaurant area. As usual for Chinese hotels, not much information about local attractions.

“New hotel, good for Tongliao”

Room are spacious, beds comfy. Not sure how old this hotel is but everything seems quite new. Having traveled throughout China before was expecting the worst, and we were pleasantly surprised. Word to the wise - bring a Chinese phrase book as no one speaks a word of English. This hotel is located in the new part of town, across the bridge from the old town. There is a small gym with LifeFitness equipment that looks barely used. The pool was not open for some reason which was the main negative for us. The buffet style breakfast was ok - if you can get by with eggs and toast, you'll be fine. Word to the wise: each room included ones breakfast, so if you are a family of four staying in one room, you'll have to pay for three more. The biggest plus for us was the mammoth playground just outside the hotel - it provided hours of entertainment for our toddlers.

I had a quick business trip planned to assess local conditions in Tongliao and my travel coordinator suggested this hotel. The next hotel below it was less than half the cost, so it seemed luxurious when compared to local spots. From outside there were spots that looked like Rome or somewhere else in Europe. Inside, it was all rural China, tho. Plants in the lobby and the hallway carpet had freshly extinguished cigarettes on/in them. My room was not expensive but it was huge and well appointed, Dining room, dining table, electric kettle but no coffee only tea. 4 free (small bottles of water) and a small locked minifridge. I was sad to not have a place to keep some water or a beer or 2 chilled. There was also a living room, an office, with WiFi and "broadband" wired connection. The bedroom was also huge, and the bathroom has a clawfooted bathtub that had a hottub installed. If you were there, saw it, and couldn't make it work, it's because the switch is in the bedroom labelled as massage bathtub. When my colleague and I rolled in, there was a ton of wedding debris everywhere and there are a large number of event rooms, so we were glad to have missed it. Check-in is under the supervision of Feifei, who was all business, fast and efficient, but not an English speaker. The next morning I was surprised at 0720 to be joining a lot of wedding guests for breakfast. Big event, nice hotel, free food, in a word one of Dante's rings. Standard "not expecting anybody but Chinese people here" fare, and although my colleague and I each had a room, alone, we both got two meal tickets. The coffee was good, boiled eggs and that was enough for me. The buffet is shoehorned into a central area but one entry/exit to that area is closed/blocked causing a choke point esp as guests intent on eating and then checking out brought all their bags, too. If the wedding was not getting ready to start, it probably would have been fine. We stayed in B Bldg and checked out some culturally appropriate yurts being constructed for events. Looked nice and were not done yet.
