“Amazing view from the top floor”

Found this hotel on TripAdvisor search engine and the location was great (right next to a Subway station and also a convenience store next door selling delicious baozi). Found this hotel on TripAdvisor search engine and the location was great (right next to a Subway station and also a convenience store next door selling delicious baozi). I paid just a few yuan more than the standard room and we found ourselves on the 27th and top floor of the hotel in a luxury room. The hotel staff were really efficient and spoke English...they have a lobby boy (just like Grand Budapest Hotel) who calls a lift for you...was a nice touch. The room was great and at just 450 yuan a night it was a real bargain, especially when we looked out of the window...the views of the city were amazing. We didn't eat breakfast here so cannot comment on that but all round this was a great hotel find and will be looking at booking here again when we return to Tianjin.

On second visit to this town we thought we would try a different hotel and I am glad we did , much nicer then the first , up graded to a better room then we had booked free of charge , always a plus, big room , great air con , mini bar, big TV , and if you look you will find lots of English TV great at 1 am, big bathroom with a blind so you don't have to watch each other , lots of freebies, another plus, lovely view from 25th floor , English not great from staff but willing to help , metro outside just plan your route first very easy to get around , taxis are cheap. Breakfast really nice and I am really fussy We had buffet dinner found loads of meat for them to cook for us had fresh lamb chops , and the roast pork that I love , well worth a look and beer on tap Would I come again if I was in the area , yes

“One year later”

Last year I was not satisfied of the service in the hotel. Anyway thanks to his positions (in front of mai entrance you have subway) I have decided to book there. Everything was OK. I will consider it again.

I am writing to share a concerning experience my colleague and I encountered during our recent visit at the Grand View Hotel Tianjin. Our hotel accommodation was arranged by the exhibition company hosting us as foreign guests. Due to our arrival at day earlier, we contacted the hotel's booking agent in advance and were informed that sufficient rooms were available, as the hotel was holding them for exhibition guests. Based on this assurance, we proceeded directly to the hotel, expecting a smooth check-in. Upon arrival late in the evening on 24th Sept, we were met at reception by a senior gentleman who, to our initial relief, spoke tluent English. However, to our surprise, he bluntly denied having any booking under our names. We explained that the booking agent had instructed us to ask the hotel staff to speak directly with them. Unfortunately, the gentleman rudely refused to make any such call. As foreign visitors without a local SIM card, we politely asked if we could use the hotel phone to contact the agent. This request was also denied, and we were asked to leave the reception area. Without a local SIM, we requested him again if we could use the hotel phone to contact the agent. This request was also denied, and we were asked to leave the reception area. Thankfully, another guest in the lobby who had overheard the conversation kindly offered us his phone. We were able to contact the booking agent. By that time, that gentleman was attending to another guest, and another receptionist (with limited English) took over. She spoke to the booking agent, and the matter was resolved without further issue within seconds. It was disheartening that the first receptionist was unwilling to accommodate a straightforward request or assist us
