“Nice accommodation! ”

I stayed 3 nights in the second building Villa Morris. Very nice room with a huge flat screen. Clean and very comfy. Big bathroom. But one negative thing was the closed spa&wellness area. They told me that they open it only when they are completely booked. I've paid more than 400€ for 3 nights and I think for that price I can expect an open spa&wellness area so I don't have walk to the main building.

“Beautiful hotel right in downtown”

The location of the hotel is great, amazing view over the main squear from the windown. The room for 2 with king-size bed is large, it has its own kitchen and a washing machine, but i think you have to ask for laundry detergent, and there are no pans to cook with (there is a gas stove in the room, amd a fridge). Wi-fi connection could be better, no air conditioner, the outlets that are installed into bed are broken, so we have to charge the phones on the kitchen desk. There are plenty of restaurants nearby, plus the public aquarium 500 m away. Breakfast costs 7$ per person, which is cheap.

Hotel in itself - being in a smaller town - is quite nice. The hotel sits on the main square in the middle of town and features an outdoor restaurant overlooking the square as well as an indoor "pub" style bar/restaurant and a more traditional indoor restaurant which also doubles as the breakfast room. The room was large and decently laid out and furnished. The hotel is a little strange. This in a positive sense - I like this kind of place. It is in fact several older properties built together to form the hotel. This means a lot of corners, stairwells, etc. Some rooms can be reached with the elevators - ours couldn’t. This meant a lot of carrying through cramped spaces, around corners and up stairs. No help was offered with the suitcases on either check in or check out. The reception was reasonably helpful as was the restaurant staff - and I think generally that was the problem. It took a while to get over the "reasonably" part - there was no sense of service or pleasure in what they were doing. I think that most of it comes down to language, but the end result is (with few exceptions) that I can’t say I found them helpful. The breakfast is ok - not really good, not really bad. The main problem was mostly that half the food wasn’t ready at 07:00 when they opened and once empty - like the eggs, etc. were rarely or at best slowly replenished. And I have to mention one experience that was totally out of order - the head waiter at the outdoor restaurant was menacing to say the least. He became very agitated and threatening when he had to redo a bill. I don’t often feel threatened, but in this particular situation I actually had to ask him to calm down and take a step back. Not OK anywhere in the world.
