“Nice Spa - Mediocre food”

I have stayed in this hotel for 2 nights in the mid-winter and I liked the property, especially the spa with saunas, pools etc. All areas were very clean and bright. I have stayed in this hotel for 2 nights in the mid-winter and I liked the property, especially the spa with saunas, pools etc. All areas were very clean and bright. What annoyed me was early closing time of the bar and reception. At 9AM the public areas were almost all deserted. Anyway, I recomment this property to couples or familes due to ideal location in the mountain area with plenty of things to do in the hotel and around.

Stayed here for 2 nights as part of a package. The good: The hotel is a reasonable size with ample parking. The rooms are spotless and well presented. Unless you sleep in sunglasses under a lead sheet, you will experience the traditional Czech issue of paper thin curtains - so at sunrise its as though a search light is pointing at your window. This hotel caters well for kids in so much as safe environment, swings, slides, climbing frames, little bikes etc and it was good to see lots of kids having fun. However, I don't have kids so trying to go for a relaxing swim in the pool - just wasn't going to happen. The small saunas (Finish, IR, Steam etc) were clean and enjoyable and despite only being open from 16:00 onwards, didn't seem to be too busy. The location is good if you like to go walking in the mountains and, with a bus route outside, if you wander too far you can always get a bus back (assuming you make it to a road). The flip side: There is nothing else to do here. There is one pub opposite the hotel and nothing else within 2km++ in any direction. The bar (39czk a beer) closes early and then its...... bedtime I guess (don't bother looking for something else to do - we've done that for you already). As part of a package we had half board (breakfast and dinner included). Breakfast was pretty impressive with a buffet of both hot and cold and lashings of coffee. The dinner was Day 1) boiled pork, boiled rice, boiled potatoes, fried fish or those sweet dumplings. Day 2) grilled chicken, boiled rice, boiled potatoes, deep fried broccoli (?) - needless to say I was disappointed in the lack of taste and effort made and this really hit my opinion of the hotel - especially when I have been out walking for 5 hours and was very hungry and knowing there are no / 1 alternative to go to. Better than some places I have been too but I did come home tired and hungry so... as expected.
