I stayed here for two nights on a business trip because it seemed like the best option regarding price and location. My room was pretty basic but it was very clean and had everything I needed. Checking in and out was easy and staff was friendly. Breakfast was OK and included bread, cold cuts and cheese, some fruit and muesli & yoghurt. The only thing I didn't like was that the walls seemed very paper thin, luckily my neighbors were mostly quiet.

A youth hostel? This is, what I was booked in on my this time biz trip to Brande? Can't be true, I thought myself. But given the alternatives in this tiny danish countryside village, its surely more than worth a try. And I was positively surprised. Sure, it is not a five or four star compound with all the amenities you have in those "one looking like the other" accommodations. It is a nice brick wall two level farm-house like arrangement of various buildings. in the main one, you have hotel rooms, with a simple, but comprehensive interior equipment. Clean, even bit cosy and... absolutely quiet. What reminds you being more in a kind of hostel: There is no daily bedding and cleaning service for the room, but who really cares. I don't. You may miss an elevator or someone helping you to carry you heavy luggage upstairs, well, normally guests seem not to be equipped with it. The breakfast-room is shared with the receptionist, thus making it easy to check in and out while eating. Also the selection of breakfast offerings reflects the egality style of a youth hostel: Do it yourself and carry away your used dish. Not too much variety, but again: It is ok and you get, what you really need. Car parking directly in front of the main building, of course at no extra charge. They even seem to have conference facilities and surely also... rooms with more than one or two beds, but it is a hostel though. More than worth a try!

We stayed at Danhostel brande for a whole month in june 2013. As a family with a 3 year old daughter, we dicided choosing hostel with kitchen instead of a hotel room. Danhostel was actually the only choice for us in brande and luckily we were right! We had room 45 and 46 with our own kitchen and bathroom in the middle. Room was quite a good size, two single beds in each room and was certainly clean enough. Maybe a bit of updating wouldnt hurt. But cant really complain for what we paid. The rooms were nice and bright, and the kitchen was dated but yet still in good working order. The price was also very reasonable compared to the hotel next to it and the owner gave us a very big discount for staying longer than 10 days. I would recommend anyone who plan to stay longer than 10 days contact the hostel owner before booking. and the highlight of this hotel was how close it was to a park with all very big play group for children. My daughter loved the back yard with easy path to the playground and she had loads of fun being there. I would definitely consider this hostel again when we need to stay in brande.

I stayed 2 nights here when visiting Legoland with my kids. I would say that this place is acceptable because of it´s low cost and basic facilities. * Flexibility was good: We came in late, so the staff left our room key in an envelope outside reception. * Brande itself is a nice, small and quiet country town, which was nice. * Room was clean and OK enough, no big shortcomings. However, we stayed in the main building´s (where reception is) ground floor and air in the room was a little damp and kinda moist-cold. You could feel the moisture in the pillows and sheets and actually there was a little damp smell also. Maybe it was the ground floor, which was actually lower than ground level from the entrance. I would try other rooms in the upper floors or other buildings... * Showers and toilets were OK, but just a little outdated, maybe. Same goes for the kitchen. No major complaints though. * Free parking just outside the main building was nice * Good WIFI in the room – nice!
