Bob W in Østerbro has become a repeat stop for us, and this week reconfirmed why. With 160+ rooms, it's a large property, so it's worth knowing there's real variation — some rooms sit on the first floor, some face the street, and not all have AC. Staff were attentive and easy to work with throughout the stay. The apartment-style setup is the real draw: full kitchen for cooking, fresh towels on request, and a generous supply of soap and good-quality towels throughout the stay. It's quiet, though naturally that depends a bit on your neighbors given the room density. Location is slightly out from the center, but a bike or the M2/M3 subway makes it an easy, quick connection in. Juno the Bakery is close by, which doesn't hurt. Three stays in, we keep coming back. Bob W is expanding with two more Copenhagen locations opening in '27 and '28 — well-earned growth for a place that's treated us well every time.

I have very mixed feelings about our 8-day stay. Pros: - Good value for money. - A very comfortable bed that we slept well on, although its design and placement have some major drawbacks (see below). - Located in a quiet and peaceful neighborhood, about a 5–7 minute walk from the metro and bus stops. - Well-equipped kitchen. - Soap and shampoo in the bathroom, plus dish soap, a sponge, and a cleaning cloth in the kitchen. - Fresh towels and bed linen were available in the laundry room whenever needed. - Tea and coffee were provided upon arrival and replenished after cleaning. Cons: In almost 40 years of traveling, I have never stayed in such a poorly designed and impractical hotel room or apartment. For a 20 m² studio, the number of design flaws is astonishing. - The bed is quite narrow and unusually high. The biggest issue, however, is its placement. One side is against the wall/window, so the person sleeping on that side cannot get out of bed without climbing over their partner and waking them up. Getting out during the night is particularly awkward. - The toilet is mounted extremely low, almost as if it were designed for a small child. Sitting down and standing up is uncomfortable, and using it with your knees much higher than the rest of your body is quite an experience. 😉 - The shower leaks both along the edges near the walls and from the bottom. Unless you keep the showerhead pointed directly into the corner, the bathroom floor quickly becomes soaked. - The shower enclosure is also poorly designed. One glass door only opens about 20–35 degrees before hitting the sink, while the other hits the toilet with no protective stop. It’s surprising the glass hasn’t broken yet. - During mid-week cleaning, we were left with only one duvet and one set of towels for two people. 😟 - The electrical outlets are another example of poor planning. One is next to the sink, exposing the socket, charging cables, and phone to water. Another is right beside the bed, with a wall lamp only about 20 cm above the mattress, making it very easy to hit your head. A third outlet is at floor level next to the bed, while the windowsill is over 50 cm away, so most charging cables barely reach it. - There is no proper wardrobe. There are a few hangers, but the space on the left is practically unusable because clothes get pressed against the shelf and the TV. - There is no dish drying rack in the kitchen, so dishes have to be dried by hand every time. There is enough space in the cupboard for a small rack. - The kitchen knives are quite dull. - The windows only open outward, not inward. When it’s windy or raining, this allows rain, dust, and sand to get inside. - If the outside temperature rises above 25°C, the room becomes extremely hot, even with all three windows open. It stays uncomfortably warm throughout the night, so the lack of air conditioning is a significant drawback. - If you encounter problems you’re talking in app to an AI rather than a human, which, for example, passes on to you work that should be done by staff ?? And one more neutral comment. It’s very convenient to open the doors via the app, BUT what if, for example, your phone runs out of battery, or worse - the hotel’s Wi-Fi or system goes down? How would you get into your room then? Overall: We managed to get through the week, but it wasn’t an especially enjoyable stay. While the apartment has a few positives, the poor design and lack of ergonomic outweighed them, and I would choose a different place next time.
