Room 4/5 Service 4/5 Location 5/5 Breakfast 5/5 Spa 3/5 Overall I'll give it 5/5, as we had a great stay for 2 nights. Room was spacious and nicely decorated. We were given a disability room, which unfortunately gave some frustrations with the automatic door taking ages to close and the door opener button lighting up the room at night. The toilet was also very high. Apart from that the bed was great, the room had a good view and a fine TV. Cooling drawer was on but didn't really cool our beverages for some reason. No noise from the neighboring rooms, but floors were a bit noisy and traveled from above. Location was fantastic, directly to the water and on walking distance to shopping, restaurants and sights. The point of view on 16th floor was also a nice touch to see the city from above. Breakfast buffet was one of the best I have ever experienced, both in terms of variety and quality. Fantastic home baked bread. Wide selection in cheese. Lots of locally sourced products. Also visited the restaurant for a late dinner, which was also of high quality, taste and innovation. Spa was a disappointment though. Very nice decor, spacious and relaxing, but value vs price did not match up and my expectations were higher for a place like this. Also 2/3 outdoor showers were not working and the hot tub inside had many tiles missing in the seating area. Also didn't manage to figure out how to use the lockers and there were no instructions. Overall there were too few experiences in the spa and was expecting a bit more luxury feeling, like the ability to order cocktails and special beers from the bar located just on the other side of the wall. The time slots was also a bit stressful if you wanted to be there late, but not miss dinner, as there was no available tables to book in the restaurant at night. When we came as walkins there was plenty of tables though and we got served.

Having been one of the most anticipated and hyped hotel openings for years in Denmark, the Alsik hotel had a rough start, when it opened during Covid. However, it has now transformed into a destination of itself, with a Michelin star restaurant at the top of the hotel. We arrived for a weekend package with our (grown) kids, where somehow something had gone wrong in the reservations. The reception, however, quickly came up with a solution and gave us the very best and largest two bedroom suite in the hotels top floor. Masterclass in service, and a suite that can match most luxury hotels. Dinner at the ground floor restaurant at night was good, and the breakfast buffet next morning was one of the best in Denmark.

“Lovely stay, a few small frictions”

Enjoyed my stay at the Alsik, especially the spa first thing in morning, when it’s quiet. I had several of the pools all to myself. Enjoyed my stay at the Alsik, especially the spa first thing in morning, when it’s quiet. I had several of the pools all to myself. (Bring your own towel, however - if you need more than one they will charge you.) Excellent fitness center, one of the nicest I have seen at any hotel. Still, there were small frictions the manager should work on: the room smelled stuffy when I arrived; a spa reservation I made at the reception desk never reached the spa; a small Coca-cola at the front desk cost DK52 (!). Otherwise, I enjoyed my stay and have recommended the hotel to friends. Breakfast was expansive and very tasty.
