“A comfortable bed in a quiet room”

This is a positive review. While the hotel was lacking in character and charm it did the essentials very well and at a reasonable price. My bed was very comfortable, the rooms (in the annex out the back) were far from any traffic noise and I slept very well at this hotel. The rooms were pretty large for standard double rooms with plenty of space for unpacking luggage. The shower was probably the best shower that I had in Ecuador. Breakfast was a buffet and was good, I like the freedom of choosing what I want and how much I want without wasting food. The buffet seemed to have all options all of the time. I would use this hotel again. Disliked: The hotel lacks a garden or cosy lounge, which was OK for us but might be a drawback for those with more time in the hotel. A few more pictures in the bedrooms might give more character (but that's irrelevant once asleep!)

“First Stop on Study Abroad”

Staying here with a group of approximately 30 people for a high school study abroad. The rooms are neat and very clean, breakfast was yummy. Would stay here again for sure. The hospitality and service has been excellent as well.

We arrived late from our flight after 1 am. Was traveling with a large tour group (30). Our room was located in a building that required you to go outside to gain access - luckily only light rain. There was an elevator and stairs. Room was basic and had adequate room for our suitcase's and a wall unit closet to store our jacket's. Bed was okay and there were adequate electric plugs for charging our cell phones. There was a lot of outside noise not exactly sure if it was coming from on premises or not. The next morning when we headed to the main building for breakfast, there were literally clowns staying there. Some kind of a local clown event. The included breakfast was adequate nothing fancy - it included ham, eggs, croissants, cereal, juice and coffee. Bathroom was small but clean. Still a lot of outside noise the second night. Tried to call the front desk but the phone had no direct line to the front desk so gave up.

“CLEAN, COMFORTABLE, FUNCTIONAL”

Hotel Carolina Montecarlo provided a clean room and comfortable bed. I was intrigued by the blinds - thin slats hanging like strips that can be adjusted to allow no light or as much light as desired. Due to a very early departure, 4:00 a.m. to catch a flight back to the USA via Panama City, I received a boxed breakfast in lieu of the sit-down included with the room. The boxed breakfast was processed meat and substandard orange juice that I elected not to eat/drink. Fortunately I had time at Quito airport to get a warm breakfast. Privacy is also an issue; the adjoining room/bathroom had a opening at the exterior wall where conversation was easy to hear and impossible to ignore.
