“Nice, new hotel”

New hotel situated beside Tampere-talo (Tampere-house, a building for big events). Room was clean. Breakfast was decent (not premium). We had drinks from lobby bar, pineapple cider and ale beer.

Conveniently-located hotel, 10 munutes walk from the train statio nandthe city center and adjacent to the acclaimed Moomin Museum (a must-visit while in Tampere). Spacious andclean rooms, helpful service, good gym. Only complain (minor as that) is that breakfast got very busy at peak times, but that's hardly the hotel fault. Would deintely stay again.

Room was spacious and neat. Cleanliness was good. The view over the rooftops of the city was very pleasant. Staff were also nice. Breakfast was quite good and adequate. Location is very good, right next to the Moomin museum, which is practically in the same building. Central railway station and main shopping street Hämeenkatu are also close. We found nice restaurants nearby. The Tampere cathedral and Orthodox cathedral are ~ 5 minutes away. Other attractions are a bit further away: ~ 20 minutes walk to Market hall, Market square, Alexander cathedral, Vapriikki and Finlayson factory, but reachable from here. Good value for money as this was less expensive than a few other four star hotels in Tampere.

Bar closed early one night -2215, and when we queried the guy in reception just told us that there were plenty of bars in town. So overall poor service Also asked when we arrived if we really needed housekeeping the next day- bad Shower poor for such a new hotel. Nothing in the mini bar, not even a bottle of water 🙄

The location of the hotel is quite suitable for those arriving by car, since you don't need to drive to any congested streets. The hotel offers outside parking for 24€ per day. Hotel is less than 10min walk away from both bus station and the railway station. Thanks to its age, the hotel was in quite good shape in general. Lobby and the breakfast area both use materials to reduce noise yet staying comfortable. There is only two main elevators, and they seem to operate somewhat slowly so stay patient. Room was moderate but it had everything you'd need. There is not much space at the entrance to the room, and there is no hangers for coats. Coats and any accessories you might have during winter months need to be stored all the way on the other side of room. To my surprise, there are an ice bucket and a Bible hidden inside the cabinet. Showers provide shampoo, conditioner and shower gel. They are good enough for staying one or two nights, but on longer stays I'd get my own with higher quality. Bed was sturdy enough, however linens were quite hard. Not sure how to properly describe the feeling but it is possible no fabric softener was used on them. The hotel information provided in the TV seemed to have conflicting details for breakfast time. It seemed like all times were in CET but it was not clear. Apparently room cleaning is performed only once every three days and there is no way to ask for cleaning. I guess you'd need to bother the reception for that? What I find troubling is that they mask this as an environmental act but it is clearly a cost saving measure. Our room was not properly cleaned regardless of lax cleaning habits. You'd assume they have more time to focus on room cleanliness when there is less rooms to clean daily. It also makes me wonder how they clean the rooms. If you cannot notice clear fingerprint smudges on the glass door to bathroom, what else do they miss? Are any of the door handles wiped clean? The bathroom floor has a slight structural flaw: the water will flow all over the bathroom. It makes you feel like you are in Greece to be honest. It is unfortunate that there is nothing to wipe the water off the floor or towards the drain. This flaw would be easily mitigated if there was either a normal door or a sliding door between the shower area and the rest of the bathroom. The small glass wall alone is not enough. It would also solve another inconvenience: the other person in the room could use the mirror and the sink while other one is in the shower. Not only is the whole floor wet but the steam makes the mirror unusable. A proper separation would cause the steam rise up and into the ventilation instead of filling up the room first. Because our departure day was a Sunday, the amount of staff was heavily downscaled. The breakfast area could use one more person. The higher pay on a Sunday is no excuse to have less staff your service needs. Due to this, they ran out of things quicker they could bring more out of the kitchen. Logistically the area is not well functioning. The eternal queue for food is unavoidable due to how everything is put out. All in all, it was a decent stay, well worth the discounted price we managed to snatch. There was nothing exceptionally good on this stay there. It was short for wow effect. I wouldn't pay the normal price, but with a nice discount go for it!
